1997 sl2 satun started with rough idol now won't start . cranks over and floods. has new fuel filter & air filter

Check the fuel pressure regulator. Pull the vacuum hose off it, If it smells of gas, Replace the regulator. Diaphragm broke and is flooding the engine threw that vacuum line. You'll also need to replace the spark plugs. Gas will foul them out also.

2001 2lt grand vitara. When engine is hot it sometimes will not start until engine has cooled. Also very lumpy if it does start, any ideas please

lumpy is misfiring. that be it.
ever do a tuneup this decade? even spark plugs?
the above implies it runs great cold. and running long distances
but if parked it has what is called in the business, heat soak, hot restart failure.
ever use scan tool. and plug it in (after a tune up) and see if there are
DTC errors.
and when wont start, TRY WOT , that is , wide open throttle cranking
per opr. guide, this clears flooding. does this help. it?
did you examine spark tips to see if fuel soaked (flooded, or jet black)????? check for spark , yet?
when dead.
lots more, ....

I have a 1996 chevy c1500 that is throwing a p0300 code indicating random multipul engine misfire. this is the only code it shows I am familuar with older non computer engines but cant determine the cause...

Look at the plugs, if they looked hot and cooked then the misfire is unlikely to be electrical. If they look OK check out the Cam sensor connections on the edge of the flywheel housing. If the plugs are cooked it could be a duff EGR valve or, because you have no code, a clogged exhaust feed pipe to it. The absence of the introduction of a measured amount of exhaust gas to the mix would give rise to systemic overheating of the ignition temperatures and this in turn can lead to multiple fire events

Engine Performance problem 1997 Chevy S-10 4

According to my book, the first code is the brake control rough road sensor, and P0302 is a cyllinder #2 misfire. Check the gap on your plug, and make sure the plug wire is on all the way. Give the boot an extra good push. Backfiring or misfiring under load is always caused by poor ignition. You may also have a faulty plug or wire.

Pouring gas into throttle body in large amounts and soaking air filter will not start

A flooded engine will never start. Pull plug or plugs if they are wet. Check for spark too.
