Looks like there is a couple screws that hold it in with a plug, does not look too complicated, it is the cruise control switch.

Lights are out on one side of the dash how to fix

Take the dash apart and replace the small bulbs. Also you can buy the Chilton Book from any Advance or Auto Zone for around 19.99 and it will have step by step instructions and pictures of any repairs that you may ever need on your vehicle. Hope this helps

Airbag light flashes 3 times then 6 times then stays on

This is for the driver's side air bag.
This may be due to a high resistance or poor connections in the side air bag (SAB) wiring harness circuits or restraints control module. This condition may occur on vehicles equipped with, or without, side air bags.
Ford has a Technical Service Bulletin out on this no. 03-24-1.
To service, install an overlay harness which incorporates soldered terminals and tin wiring. Refer to the service procedure for direction on which side air bag kit to order. Installation instructions and illustrations are included in the kit.
FOR VEHICLES WITHOUT THE (SAB), FOURTH DIGIT OF VIN IS "Y" OR "Z" :
  1. Install a new Non-SAB wire harness kit 3L2Z-14B455-AB. Refer to the installation instruction sheet included in the kit.
FOR VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH (SAB), FOURTH DIGIT OF VIN IS "C" OR "D" :
  1. Install the appropriate harnesses as indicated below. Refer to the installation instruction sheet included in the kit.

How do you replace the ignition switch in a 1999 Ford Explorer?

This is very easy to replace. Had to replace my ignition switch on my 96 ford explorer ... Just went to Auto Zone got the switch, which was cheap and then changed it. Has instructions with it, but there is a tiny hole on the steering wheel column that you need something small to fit in and there is a spot you need to push in there, may have to wiggle around to find it, you will know when you find it and the ignition will pop out and then just pull it out, take the new one line it up and pop it in. Job done. :)

1999 Ford Explorer looking for instructions for installing a door

There really aren't any directions. If it is the door latch remove the door panel. Remove the rod that connects it to the door latch assembly. Remove the nuts that attach the latch to the door and reverse the process to finish. You may have to raise or lower the window to get access to the door latch. Good luck.

Ford explorer 2 doors 1999

I always start off by purchasing a repair manual for the specific vehicle. You should be able to pick one up at your local auto parts store or by using one of the following links.

http://www.haynes.com/products/?searchType=vehicleApplicationSearch2&searchEnd=yes&sfID1=&sfID2=&sfID3=&year=1999&make=Ford&model=Explorer&x=18&y=12

http://www.delmarlearning.com/browse_product_detail.aspx?catid=11989&isbn=0801991315&cat1ID=AU&cat2ID=CHM

These manuals provide detailed step-by-step instructions on how to service or repair almost every component of your vehicle.

How to set timing chain for 1997 ford explore

The best way to do that outside of having your own personal mechanic is to purchase a repair manual from Auto Zone or some other parts retailer. They have step by step repair instructions with photos based on a complete teardown and rebuild of your car. I have used Haynes Repair Manuals and they are around $20-25 each. Best investment for a used car owner.
