The easiest way is with a code reader which you can get at your local auto parts store or with a scan tool.

Reset airbag light

Hey Earl, what's going on ? The air bag module is usually under the passenger seat or the center console ! The only way to turn off the light is with a up grade scan tool , not code reader. An the light is on for a reason , problem with the system ! If you don't know about this don't mess with it , you could deploy an air bag !
The AIR BAG indicator, located on the instrument panel cluster (IPC) is used to notify the driver of SIR system malfunctions and to verify that the SDM is communicating with the IPC. When the ignition is turned ON, the SDM is supplied with ignition 1 voltage and requests the IPC to flash the AIR BAG indicator 7 times. While flashing the indicator, the SDM conducts test on all SIR system components and circuits. If no malfunctions are detected the SDM will communicate with the IPC through the class 2 serial data circuit and request the IPC to turn the AIR BAG indicator OFF. The SDM provides continuous monitoring of the air bag circuits by conducting a sequence of checks. If a malfunction is detected the SDM will store a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) and request the IPC to turn the AIR BAG indicator ON. The presence of a SIR system malfunction could result in non-deployment of the air bags. The AIR BAG indicator will remain ON until the malfunction has been repaired.

All you have to do to reset the TPMS light is make sure all your tires are set around 35-38 psi then drive it a a couple miles and the light will turn off. If it is blinking then you have a sensor issue and you will have to take it to the dealer. The tire pressure warning light is yellow not red."Your vehicle has also been equipped with a TPMS malfunction indicator to indicate when the system is not operating properly. The TPMS malfunction indicator is combined with the low tire pressure telltale. When the system detects a malfunction, the telltale will flash for approximately one minute and then remain continuously illuminated. This sequence will continue upon subsequent vehicle start-ups as long as the malfunction exists. When the malfunction indicator is illuminated, the system may not be able to detect or signal low tire pressure as intended. TPMS malfunctions may occur for a variety of reasons, including the installation of replacement or alternate tires or wheels on the vehicle that prevent the TPMS from functioning properly. Always check the TPMS malfunction telltale after replacing one or more tires or wheels on your vehicle to ensure that the replacement or alternate tires and wheels allow"

Malfunction Indicator light is on. Every thing seems fine except for that, any ideas?

{: ) If the malfunction indicator light is on, it means that your engine modules had detected inconsistencies , specially the emission systems. The engine control modules continuously monitor signals from various sensors and makes constant calculations based on predetermined calibrations. If the feedback gathered is in conflict with its programmed instructions, it will set a code and will request the cluster to turn on the malfunction indicator light.
You may find or feel that your engine is working fine, at the moment, but this issue shoud not be ignored. Small things can become worse if not anticipated earlier.
Tou can try this: Turn off all loads and the ignition switch. key out. Open then close driver door. Wait for 1 minute to reset. Then try to start, and check if the light will go off. If not, its advisable to have your vehicle scanned forn codes to determine the cause.

2003 Hyundai Elantra Malfunction Light is On

What you can do is go to Auto Zone and have the code read. They will do this for free. This is the best thing to do.Other wise your just wasting your money replacing things that could have nothing to do will the problem. The owners manual just gives you a vague idea of what it could be.Usually the light will have to be reset with a scan tool or after it passes the test for what ever was causing the problem the light will clear itself. Some times it can take a times before it clears.Hope this helps.Good luck.

The malfunction indicator light

Don't reset the battery, as it will only remove the error code but does not fix the problem. You may want to locate a store that can
check obd 1 (1995 and older).
