Question about 2000 Oldsmobile Bravada
3 out of 4 switches work on the panel only the driver side window will not role down
If you can get the switch out without having to take the door's inner panel off, I suppose you could try a salvage yard switch. However, more likely it's not the switch but a problem with the motor-the driver's window is the most used on a car, so likely the first to wear out. Pull the inner panel off and with a spare battery and jumper wires, test the motor operation. Pull off the electrical connector at the motor and hook up the jumper wires-doesn't matter which direction-if nothing happens, reverse your jumper leads-check if motor moves both directions. If motor works now, it was the switch or the wiring from switch to motor. If motor is bad or noisy or slow moving, you will have to replace the motor. Not easy, but doable.

SOURCE: power window will not roll up
its always the driver's side ..
you have to take the door panel off
then see if you can reach the moter
see if the wires are making contact
take them off and check for power
put them back on
if it doesn't work and you hear no sound
try putting something like a piece of wood up against the side of the motor and give it [the wood] a fir couple of taps with a hammer
then try again.
if that doesn't work you need to take the motor out and replace it.

If the other ones work its not a breaker fuse. Since the power for other windows feed through the drivers switch. Try a new or used switch.

You may have a bad switch, or a bad regulator or motor....
You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you can test the switch to see if it's the switch that's broken. If not, you can then pull off the weather seal and access the insides of the door and check the motor, regulator

lube the window guides with silicone spray, if that doesn't do it then ou will need to pull the door panel and see what is worn out.
