Whenever
this warning light or any other stays on in the dash it is indicating
that the systems control module (or the system sensor in the case of
lights like low oil pressure, door open indicators etc.) has detected
a fault, it then disables the system (this applies to ABS,TCS, TCM,
SRS and BCM faults and others) as long as the light is on. You must
now have the dealer hook up a special electronic diagnostic tool and
"scan" the system for the fault code that is stored for the
problem(s) Legend
of Abbreviations. ABS Antilock brake system.TCS Traction control
system, TCM Transmission control module, SRS Supplemental restraint
system, BCM Body control module

Hi Mike,
I'm in the U.K. and your Quarts are of a different measure to ours, I would say that is about the right amount, however careful topping up on level ground and monitoring the dip stick should get you there? anyhow where you bought the oil will have capacity details.
As for oil service light have you tried holding down the trip reset button whilst turning on ignition? Keep it pressed for about 10/15 seconds.
Good Luck!
Press the Blue button please if helped by my FREE Effort, Thank You!

Whenever the car behaves as if it has a loss of fuel, it may be just that, but when the engine management light comes on it usually isn't. If you can start the car OK, with the Air mass meter connected or disconnected, then, although the air mass meter may be faulty it isn't knackered. A blocked catalytic converter can do what you're finding and the exhaust back pressure it produces can confuse the engine management system. There's no easy way I know to be sure about this apart from running the car cat-free. Where you could do this nowadays is anyone's guess.
