Question about Cars & Trucks

Can't find the right gasket

I just got my 2006 matrix scooter. It's a 150 cc. I rode it for under 50 miles when the muffler came unattached at the exhaust. It made horrible noises. I am trying to replace the gasket and can't seem to find the right one. I put a used, round gasket in place for now. It helped but is clearly not the right gasket. Any ideas? Details

SOURCE: Terrible Front End noise

I would agree with the hub bearing solution. I also have a 2001 Cavalier and recently replaced both hub bearings. The sound is quite loud and does get worse the faster you drive. Once I got mine replaced, I couldn't believe how quiet my car ran. My dad works with a guy who does a lot of work on Cavalier's and has noticed that first the left hub bearing goes bad, soon followed by the right after about 60,000 miles.

SOURCE: 2006 matrix shifting in transmission problem

This is a known condition. And, is under warranty.

Take your vehicle to a Toyota dealership. Ask them to replace your ECU per TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) TC015-07. The new ECU has redesigned logic that rectifys your condition.

SOURCE: 1991 eldorado lack of power,

check your rotor under your distributor cap if you have one. That should be replace. Also did you check your mass air flow sensor. you can buy a special spray to clean it out. Do you have a throttle body, if so it is so easy to pull and clean it out. Check your throtle body sensor.

there are a lot of auto part stores and garages that will do free computer checks now. Take advantage of this.

your definately on the right path, just keep digging. Also does your car have a turbo, this could be your problem.

SOURCE: noise ... raddle

When the engine is cold, go under the car and try to shake the exhaust system at the approximate spot you hear the rattle coming from. It is most likely a heat shield for the exhaust, or a broken (rusted through) hanger for the exhaust making the noise you describe. You can probably correct it with a wire or couple of screws to secure the shield, or replace a hanger.

SOURCE: Exhaust pipe rattles when car idles. Had muffler

Check the heat shield on the Catalytic Converter, after a few years they start to rust off and rattle. Crawl under the Pathfinder and bang along the Converter and muffler area and see where it's coming from.   Good chances are, it's from the heat shield since you already had everything changed from the Cat back.
Good luck and hope this helps.

fuel and air mix is wrong, carb might need cleaning. or you have a blocked fuel filter. you could even have a air leak in one of the intake gaskets. try some fuel cleaner in the tank and run it round for awhile it may clear it but failing that you will need to check the intake and fuel filter. also check spark plug for its gap and colour. wet is flooded too much fuel

The good news is the warranty is 8 years and 80,000 miles on this fault.

There is a Bulletin on this concern. The correction is a new PCM with updated software.

There is a Bulletin on this concern, and it is a warrantable condition for 8 years or 80,000 miles so you are still covered by the factory warranty.
The problem is a logic issue in the PCM. The correction is a new PCM with updated software.
