98 Isuzu rodeo, 6 cyl with crack but no start condition.
I have fuel and spark. Battery voltage its OK but noticed that engine was not turning when I was cranking manually. Pulled timing belt cover and noticed belt tensioner bad. So I bought a new tensioner and a new belt; set timing by haines book and timing belt's marks; I got engine cranking manually so put every back together but engine still not starting. I checked for other timing set diagrams for Isuzu and every single diagram was different and actually no one was showing a right picture for my car. Ahh! the belt that i used was an aftermarket one(dayco) I there any trick to set the timing in this vehicles?

I'm not going to go into the timing issue, I'll let somebody like Toyota Ed do that but if you had a broken belt I'd almost guarantee you have some bent valves as well. You may want to do a compression check before you go to much further. Good Luck, Regards, RSelvy

i have the same problem but i did not replace the engine. my 1993 isuzu rodeo 3.2 liter 2wd is doing the SAME THING. it all started when i bought the car and noticed at night the back door dome light was staying on even with the door shut. i used a bolt to temp. fix it until i could get a switch. after a few weeks i was driving and my car just died. i got a jump start and took it to my garage and charged the batery on a low charge. the next day it started and i drove it just out of town and it just quit. i took the batter home, charged it, and it would start. i noticed the positive cable was extremely coroded. i replaced the cable and after that it wouldnt start at all. it would just turn over and not get a spark. it would crank and not start. i check the fuel pump and filter and it was clicking. i took my altanator out and had it tested and it failed. i tested the spark plugs and NO SPARK. then i replaced the 3 solinoids, and the panel the solinoids sit on with new parts from auto zone. im lost too.
