Hey I have a 1991 Nissan pathfinder 4*4 and I just had this transmission put in it runs good but I'm worried that it wasnt put in right and the reason is the power switch blink when you turn on the car what is wrong with it and even with the old one did that

The first thing to look for is the oil in good condition, next you will want to replace the tail shaft seal and if it's front wheel drive it's harder to do, anyway be sure the oil is ok and ask if the have a warranty for it normally 30 days, also take the tork converter out to a transmission shop and ask them if it's good and if it will work, if the used tyranny does not come with one the pump has to be the right size of input shaft and pump shaft you may have to shell out $30..00 bucks for the check but it’s better than pulling the tyranny again.

It is hard to get to them, some people make wrenches out of old wrenches that fit in tiny places, etc, but if you have a book, and you should, if you got this far, there is a spot to access these bolts from, one at a time, either up on the right or by removing the starter. Don't strip them, and don't let the torque converter fall out when you pull the tranny. (if it is auto) You will have oil all over the place. You might have to pull a few spark plugs to take the compression off the engine so it will spin easier.

Sorry I don't know much about dollars or auto transmissions but having contracted a number of transmission repairs to specialists here in the UK I am qualified to tell you it is difficult to get a good auto transmission repair for less than about £1200 Sterling when the transmission must be removed.

That would make your quotation seem about right, though the "at least" part represents hidden dangers.
Once the transmission is out and stripped there is likely to be other things needing attention that would be foolish to ignore but new brake bands, clutch packs and oil seals aren't cheap and the cost would be in addition. If there is swarf or residue found when the oil pan is removed the dismantling would typically be complete and the cleaning and examination thorough.

The final cost is likely to be more than your old car is worth and you need to consider very carefully whether to spend.
You could of course ask local car breakers if they could supply enough cheap gear to convert to a sensible manual transmission.

Transmission fluid

Could be a fluid pump, torque converter, or a shift solenoid issue.
Might even be bands giving out.
If the fluid isn't cherry red, you may have a major overhaul in the near future.
Sorry I can't be more specific.

Bigdawg3@quest.com94 nissan pathfinder. the torque convertor come out seperate from the transmission. i was told that it should have came out as a hole. how do i replace it.

The torque converter is attached to the flywheel or in this case possibly a starter ring gear plate attached to the rear of the crankshaft. There should be between 4 and 6 bolts to remove it. It is separate from the transmission. Please rate this answer, thanks.

My 1991 Nissan Pathfinder starter does not work? Nothing happens when the key is turned. Mechanic wants to charge $500 to replace the starter. Is this a fair repair cost and what all has to be replaced?

I would say that is high just for a starter motor, try and get him down to about 200,he is way overcharging you mate if you can but if not keep looking around, but just to make sure check if all proper leads are connected eg battery leads and maybe if you have a spare battery try using that just once and see if that works for ya.

Nissan 300zx transmission replacement

No, that is not true, you can only use one from another 300ZX, 1990-91 for a manual transmission, 1990-93 for an automatic. Also you have to get the one for if you have twin turbo, or one if you don't.

My 1991 nissan pathfinder's wiper motor repair

The cowl panel has to be removed. You will find plastic clips and possibly a few screws holding the panel on. Once you remove the panel you will see the wiper linkage and motor.
