Some of these systems are controlled by vacuum. May want to start looking for a vacuum leak somewhere. Some mechanics spray starting fluid near the vacuum lines to test for leaks.

Ac smell in 2009 Mercedes c300

Check drain and unclog if required.
Remove air cabin filter (see you tube for instructions). Make sure it is done in a clean place so no dust or dirt gets in while you do this.
Block Air Cabin filter opening with duct tape.
Set fan to 50% (3/4), temperature to minimum
AC must be OFF
Open hood and using a Spray bottle, spray half a bottle of Alcohol 70% into the air intake vents at bottom of windshield
Turn off fan
Let it sit for 30 to 60 min
Set temperature to max and fan to max
Open hood and using a Spray bottle, spray the second half (250ml) of a bottle of Alcohol 70% into the air intake vents at bottom of windshield.
Turn heater and fan OFF
Take off duct tape and replace the air cabin filter (new one is better)
If you don't take off the air cabin filter, a lot of the alcohol or disinfenctant (like Lysol) may be stuck in the filter causing an irritating smell.
Replace Air cabin filter if possible.

Why does my heat blow warm air then it turns cold

its VERY likely that your heater core is getting stopped up.

The heater in your car works by circulating hot water from the engine into a copper or aluminum pipe coiled up in the dashboard. The heater/airconditioner's fan blows across it and the hot air comes out of the vents. This is why the heater doesn't work right away when you first start the car. It usually won't work until the hot/cold needle in the gauges is starting to rise up.

If your mechanic recently replaced the thermostat, its possible that there is air in the system which will result in less antifreeze in the car than it should be. If this is not the case, the heater core is probably stopping up and will require expensive replacement if it cannot be flushed clean.

Check to make sure the car is full of antifreeze IN THE RADIATOR, AND THE OVERFLOW JUG. Please be very sure there is NO AIR in the cooling system as well.

My 98 Aurora blows air and ac light turns on but no heat is coming out. What could be the problem?

Heater core sounds clogged take the two heater hoses off (usually easiest on eng side) just put garden hose pressure thru both sides till comes out clear reconnect hoses top off antifreeze... Hope this helps!!!! Good luck!!! Remember if the car is hot there will be pressure on the hoses!!!!

The heater on my 2003 s-10 stopped putting out much heat.when it is set to def it will put out warm air when turned to dash air the air is warm foe a second and then turns cool. before the heater would...

Check your temp gauge. If it doesn't move you may want to change the thermostat. Also, if you put on the defrost and your windshield gets foggy you may need to replace your heater core.

The ac only blows hot air, the compressor does not come on. and the air does not change from middle to floor or windshield defogger. what could be wrong.

You might need to have your AC recharged. If the settings don't change then it's the heater control box that needs to be replaced this is the box with all of the heater controls.

2001 Aztek blowing cold air (strong) on left side of the car.

This is a blend door problem, this door diverts air either throgh the heater core or the AC accumulator core, it either provides hot, cold or a mixture or blend, this door is deep in the dash and in most cases the dash must be removed to service the little electric motor that operated the door.
