SOURCE: 2002 kia spectra has hard time picking up speed

I had the same problem. I changed my fuel filter too.Your catalytic converter is clogged. I could put the pedal to the floor board and couldnt hardly pick up any speed. I could hardly make up a hill on the highway. Take it to a kia dealership and they will, they should replace it for free, they did mine and I didnt have a warranty. I think there is a warranty on that specific part. That's what it is though.

SOURCE: 2000 kia sephia constant engine stalling!!!

try this procedure and let me know if it cures the problem.

Here is the common cause of surges, stalls at stops, slow idle speed, erratic idle speed, rough idle and engine hesitation (and other problems), it is in most cases the idle speed control air-bypass valve and or throttle valve and upper intake, these area's get full of gunk and combustion residue over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

Drop the fuel tank and replace the fuel pump. Filter is attached to the fuel pump. Sounds like the fuel pump is failing.

SOURCE: 2001 Kia Rio clutch given out?

your clutch wheel is completely burnt out do not try to drive your car anymore if you do you will damage the fly wheel. if you have the experience you can order a clutch kit that comes with clutch wheel pressure plate and throwout bearing and install it yourself. if not then it is a very difficult job and you will need to have it worked on in an auto shop. for info and repairs for your car go to autozone.com sign up its free then click on repair manuals you will find all of your info there....good luck

Has a hard time to start have to play with throttle to start but stalls doesnt even idle

Since it starts I would assume the problem is not in having no spark. You may want to look into testing the fuel pressure. If you have not changed the fuel filter in a while you may want to do that now.

Any service engine light? If so have that checked.

While a faulty ignition module can have an adverse affect on timing and starting, it seems to be a common thing these days for a fuel pump to go bad. Many times due to people driving bellow 1/4 tank of fuel. The pump inside the tank needs fuel to keep it cool.

Stalling and Jerking

I would check the fuel pressure and replace the fuel filter if it hasn't been replaced for awhile. The last 2 fuel filters I changed, the gas coming out of it looked like black ink.
