Question about 2007 Mercedes-Benz ML350

1 Answer

Just bought a 2006 mercedes ML350 and as I was driving, the engine oil light came on and said to check it at the next refeuling. I figured out that the oil level was low so I add some oil. My question why i had my oil level reduced? I did not found any oil drops on the car parking spot but I have concern it could indicate a gasket problem as I noticed relatively excessive exhuest

I have some questions first. How do you drive the vehicle? Always light to touch with the pedal, eco friendly, gas conservative driver, or are you more pedal to the floor, always in a rush?

SOURCE: engine oil light came on, on my mercedes ML 350, 2006 model.

IT MEANS THAT YOUR OIL LEVEL IS VERY LOW AND NEEDS TO BE FILLED. CHECK THE OIL LEVEL WITH THE DIPSTICK IF EQUIPPED. IF NOT, THEN ADD 1 OR 2 QUARTS OF OIL TO SEE IF THE OIL LIGHT GOES OFF. IT MAY TAKE SYNTHETIC OIL SO DON'T PUT CONVENTIONAL OIL IN IT IF YOU SEE A MOBIL 1 SYNTHETIC OIL RECOMMENDATION STICKER UNDER THE HOOD. IF YOU ARE UNSURE THEN BRING IT TO A QUALIFIED TECHNICIAN A.S.A.P.. HOPE THIS HELPS. GOOD LUCK.

I don't know if this is helpful but an engine needs three things to work. Air, fuel, spark.

They may have added too much oil -- a 2004 MB ml350 with a 3.7L engine should take only 8.5 Quarts (including what goes in the oil filter) -- Exactly 8.5 Quarts, no more, no less. You may be able do check the oil level by using the onboard computer - pushing the buttons on the steering wheel - follow the directions in the owners manual on how to check the oil level.

When i am driving on the free at speed of 70mph a message come on the screen to check the engin oil next refuling yet the oil level is fine

Hello. All of the warning lights are activated by a sensor. In this case since the engine oil level checks out fine the cause of the engine oil warning light is a bad sensor. You should be under full warranty. Have the dealership change the sensor. Joe

I HAVE ML 350 BENZEN ENGINE CROSSED 100000 KM MODEL 2006; I GET YELLOW SIGNAL IN TABLUE SHOWING ENGINE PICTURE FREQUENTLY COMMING AND DISAPPERING NEXT DAY AND AGAIN APPERING

It's the Check Engine LLight. Your truck should be checked by a Mercedes Benz technician using Star Diagnosis computer. If impossible, you can try by checking the emission parts, like gas door, air filters (2 of them), spark plugs (12 of them, yes, twelve, two plugs per cylinder), catalytic converters, gas filter.....
Good luck.

This quite simple if you have proof of owner ship, I had one made recently for a mercedes, I just called the parts department and faxed them a copy of the title, cost twenty dollars. Had one the next day.
