Well for Honda,I will be honest end stay i never own one yet, But people tell me Most (Honda,s) That you wiil get 300,0000 out of them if they were maintained (Properly) Before any thing serious goe,s on them,Is your,s Carburated Or fuel (Injected) If it has a carb on it ,It possibly could need to be rebuilt. But try the cheap route first End change the plugs end wires on it, If they are bad they will act up when it is colder out side. End the car will be hard to get started first thing in the (Morning) As for the noise in the belt (Area) Does it go away once the car has been running for awhile?

SOURCE: Intermittent check engine light, runs rough

You have 2 codes, 8 and 5, code 8 is the TDC sensor, this would cause a no start, the code 5 is for the MAP sensor, it may be disconnected or defective.

SOURCE: rough idle when warm and in gear, idle pulses slightly every now and then, check engine light is on

It sounds like the timing belt is off a tooth. Did you have it scanned to see what code was in the computer? These engines will surge when the cam timing is off.

2010 Ford F150 would suddenly loose power and only idle. Pull over shut off sit a couple minutes crank and run fine for a while then do same thing again. Wrench would show up on instrument panel

Sounds like the catalytic converter or muffler maybe getting plugged up and the computer is putting the truck in limp home mode. Did you put a scanner on the truck. You might try to remove the 02 sensor ahead of the cat and see if it runs a little better it will not be perfect but should stay running if so do an exhaust check. When the cat or muffler gets plugged it puts back pressure on the engine and won't allow the fuel to be pulled into the engine properly.

Have you tried to checking the tensioner and the idler pulley? The idler is a fixed pulley on the driver side of the alternator. Most of the time this gets rusted during sudden change in the weather or its just the bearing inside it just worned off.

High temperature gauge reading, low battery voltage reading

The loud whine you speak of indicates one of two things a bad serpentine belt or alternator, The first thing would be to check the belt.Look for cracks worn spots or glazing. If the belt looks ok then take the belt off and start the engine for a minute or so and listen for noise.

V6 engine idles rough after restarting, then smooths out

My first guess would be a dirty carb/fuel injector set. Run some fuel cleaner through the tank and see if it gets better. You might have to do it through a couple of tanksful. How long since you've had a tune-up? It might just be that time.
