SOURCE: My 1999 chevy tahoe is leaking antifreeze. I

it could but- check passenger side front where heater core line go into manifold right behind alternator the hose line is connected by a press clip into an alloy fitting this fitting gets eaten away by anti freeze and hose angle pulls back on fitting the part is $18 at dealer and is screwed into manifold use caution if ur r going to replace at very edge of aluminum manifold---and check ur water pump bolts the 2 longer ones should have a lock sealant on them they bolt in thru a water jacket

My 2013 ford taurus 3.5L is leaking antifreeze on passenger side but cant see where its coming from

It needs to have the system pressurized and then put up in the air on a car lift to see what the source of the coolant leak is, it may be the heater core leaking as the weep hole for the HVAC system is on the passenger's side.

Unfortunately, if you can't trace the flow of the fluid back to its source, you will need a specialty tool to do this yourself. I can tell you what a mechanic will do as part of an evaluation.

A mechanic will first use a kit similar to this Craftsman set:
http://www.sears.com/craftsman-cooling-system-pressure-tester/p-00946342000P

Essentially this works by attaching an air pump (like a bicycle tire inflator) to where the radiator cap fastens. By forcing pressure into the system, it will cause (hopefully) fluid to spurt out of small pinholes or around seals where it is leaking. After pressurizing, the mechanic will look with a flashlight.

The second part of the test is to dump a ultraviolet dye into the system and run the car to circulate it. After waiting for a bit of the dye-antifreeze to flow out wherever it is, the mechanic would then use a black light to trace the leak.

If you have access to a pressure testing kit or dye, you might be able to do this yourself, otherwise a leak test runs around $30 to $40 at a standard mechanic.

I change the themostat hose but its still leaking from under neath on the driver side . and the coolant light comes on. also a awful smell like it burning

It sounds like a leaking intake manifold gasket to me. (Very common on GM V-6 engines) Look with a flashlight and see if you can see antifreeze running over the top of the transmission bell housing. Check both sides. On the side nearest the windshield and the side nearest the radiator.
Don't drive the car with a coolant leak. The aluminum heads are very unforgiving when it comes to overheating.

I have 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo and it is leaking coolant

Front drivers side could be a bad cap, lower hose or the radiator itself. You need to look carefully and find the leak source. Steam travels and isn't a good indication of where the actual leak is coolant will run down and take any path it can to reach the ground. Therefore, you need to follow it back to where it is coming from, then deal with it. Your water pump can also leak and run down the lower hose. there is a small hole in the pump behind the pulley. If you see coolant coming from there the pump needs to be replaced. Sealers will not work on hoses or pump leaks so don't bother using them for that.
Good luck...don't forget this is free, so rate answers!

Leaks water from top of engine and runs down the transmission with out car running but cant see from were

are you in a cold region? if you are and don't have the proper mix of water and antifreeze you might have popped a freeze plug. you might also want to check your heater hoses as one runs off of the intake manifold.

your going to have to pull back carpet and clean any liquid up and start your truck and watch for original source of leaks, have you removed the plastic cover of the heat work on the drivers side to see if the heater core is leaking and running over to the drivers side.

Water leak from driver side of the motor

Too many items that can leak for me to give an opinion...but, if it's water, not antifreeze it could be condensation from A/C. Coolant is generally green.
How is the cooling system? Is she adding any coolant or is it running low? Last but most obvious, take a careful look and find the source of the leak. If you don't know what it is, you can't fix it!
