Perfectly normal. The coolant and radiator cools the engine, but at idle there is no passing air to cool the manifold and exhaust. Just make sure there are no codes and that you are not running lean.
Send you auroelectrician to a scrap yard and get him/her to remove the loom from a scrap Audi, the loom in your car can then be cut and spliced to the replacement loom with plug.
A glowing red manifold usually means a lean mixture, which causes a hotter burn, hence exhaust manifold glows red......you havent stated inlet or outlet so i went for the obvious...
