Check the indicator switch, that seems to be all that is left in the system, except the flasher relay, depending on whether the vehicle uses the same one for the hazards or not.

You need to replace the blicker switch. The metal contact on your blinker switch is not being moved when you switch it over because its a little plastic bump that snapped off. You'll have to take the plastic molding around your steering column off before you do this. Most screws are behind plastic plugs in the molding that hide the screws.

SOURCE: LEFT TURN SIGNAL WON'T
Remove bulb one at at time.
Check the socket for TWO contacts (two elements) or single contact.
Check the bulb.
Make sure you has the correct bulb install.
A single contact bulb will short out a TWO contacts socket.
Wrong type of bulb will cause the problem you has now.
The correct model for rear turn signal is 3497.

yes. you could have blow a fuse, as if you were wiggling it around, could of shorted it out with positive on ground contact, which could blow the fuse. Check in your fuse panel, should be marked as break lights or turn signals, and most likely fuse has been blow. If this solves that, now back to the beginning. You said, that might be missing a clip or something, best thing to do, is open other side that you know works,(left front blinker) look to see how it looks and compare to right side, and that should tell you what possible clip or part is missing. Get a couple back up fuses, in case happens again, while trying to fix this right side bulb. I am sure, in this case, if no lights work now, it is a fuse.
Please let me know if this works, and if there is ANYTHING i can do to help you more through this fix it job. If I did help, please respond in comment and/or checking on thumbs up of help area. Thanks Mike

SOURCE: Left turn signal blinking fast
That is an indicator that the bulb in the rear is burned out. Most vehicles built since 1995 use this method to tell owners that a blinker is out at a location on that side of the vehicle. Replace the bulb in the rear and it should work fine.
