You need to take it to a specific trans repair shop so they can diagnose it. i think your shift solenoids are starting to malfunction. if it helps you can try and replace the fluids and the trans filter that may help and or fix the problem

SOURCE: trans shifts very hard between 1 & 2 gear.

There is a recall on that issue. Call honda to see if you are still covered. There is a limit on mileage. If you qualify they will put a new tranny. Good luck

1998 Honda passport auto trans only has reverse,no forward gears.I would like to have a wiring diagram for the trans ele plugs and to be able to check the shift solenoids for proper voltages/function

Check engine light on ? Hooking up a scan tool and checking for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes would be the first thing to do ! And then using scan tool data list for transmission inputs to TCM/ECM ! If it were a electrical problem the check engine light would be on , most of the time . You can find free wiring diagrams at http://bbbind.com/free_tsb.html

Where is the shift solenoid located in the transmission on a 94 Honda passport ex with a v6

Not familar with your exact transmission, but most have more than one shift solenoid. These are usually easy to access once trans bottom pan is removed.

1995 chevy regular cab 4.3l v6 2wd wont go into overdrive

Sounds like it is stuck in second gear. Overdrive only drops rpm by a couple hundred. In third gears you should still be less than 3,000 rpm.

Second gear is a default gear when the transmission is in limp mode. Is the check engine light on? Does it shift if you manual shift through the gears with the gear selector?

I have a honda passport (good condition) that has minor transmission fluid leak. It's hard to get the first gear going when it's cold and during stop and go situation...like stopping at traffic light!...

the transmission is probably going. You can try to take the bottom of the transmission pan off and change the fluid. add abottle of lucas transmission stop slip. also check the fluid and make sure there is some in there and it's at the proper level if not top it off and get the leak fixed. the fluid helps the gears so they dont clash together so hard and get a lot of matalic shavings in the trans the lower the fluid the more damage you do to the trans and the hotter your fluid gets and it burns up faster burnt fluid is the worst thing for your trans

1998 dodge ram 1500 2wd 5.9 eng. how to change

just drop the transmission pan to drain it and the filter is right there in the valve body,DON'T mess the band adjustment, they are only to stop the planetary gears so you can go into reverse, there is no such thing as adjusting bands! that went out with the fifties!
