There is an engine coolant temperature sensor that feeds the powertrain control module. The PCM also receives input from a dual pressure switch. Since you have eliminated the other possibilities, I think those items I mentioned deserve to be checked

SOURCE: Radiator cooling fan fuse location for Ford Taurus

The cooling fan on a ford car usually does not have a fuse. The cooling fans are controlled by a relay in the power distribution box inside the engine compartment. The box is usually located near the battery. Your owners manual should have a guide showing you what each relay in the box is for.

What causes both cooling fans to not run?

Hi Naomi , there is a lot involved in the control of the cooling fans on your vehicle ! There are three fuse's , three relays an a fan control unit !
1. radiator fan main relay , located in underhood relay box A
2.condenser fan relay , located in underhood relay box A
3.radiator fan relay , located in underhood relay box C
4.Cooling fan fuse # 47 20amp. underhood fuse / relay box
5.condenser fan fuse # 50 20amp in underhood fuse / relay box.
Any one of these could cause them to not work, rather then just replacing parts an wasting money you should take it to the repair shop !

Radiator fans won't come on. Fuse ok

If fuse is ok, check the relay fuse box under the hood to see if relay isn't short. Try to rotate with another relay of the same specs. If it works, then your relay is bad, if it still doesn't work, we can assume your radiator fan motor is bad, and the fan needs replacement. You can test to make sure it is the fan motor by unplugging the wiring harness to your fan, then test it with a 12v battery via the postive and negative terminals. If you get nothing then, it is definitly your fan, if not, could be a temperature sensor.

C 200 99 t reg fan doesent kick in

hi, there is a test for checking: the fan: the stat normally in the radiator and has 2 connections (temperature switch) if this is bridged (with the ignition ON but don't start the engine). ( this test checks the fuse, relay, fan motor, wiring system ), if the fan runs it is the radiator stat. if the fan do't run then it may be the fuse, relay, wiring system. try replacing the fuse, relay. if you turn over the fuse cover will show where the fuse is and relay. the fuse box may be in the engine bay / right hand side of drivers steering wheel. if you can let me know. gerry

The radiator fans in my 1996 Plymouth Vogager is not functioning. The 40 Amp orange fuse for "radiator fan" in the power distribution center is in perfect shape. Is there any other fuse or relay to check...

Check the fuse box under the hood and under the dash, find the cooling fan relay or fuse. Sometimes there are relays mounted to the fan shroud itself. little black square plastic relay 1"x1" roughly. Look inside cover of fuse box for location or owners manuel. Check or replace the relay(s). Possible bad fan assembly though. Check for power.

Fan

You have to check the main relay fan fuse relay and disconnect the fan and try it directly to make sure the fan motor is fine if all this is well into the cavity where the thermostat is a thermal switch that sends it relay the signal to the fan you can disconnect and the fan has to start working if this works the problem is you have the thermal switch. Thanks
