Question about 2003 Pontiac Sunfire

2003 Pontiac Sunfire Right Headlights Dim

I have checked all fuses and replaced the bulbs. That didn't work. I found on the internet that there is an issue with the wiring harness for the lights on the left side. I have taken the whole front of the car apart finding all these wires and tracking them down. I found the wiring harness tucked under the washer bottle almost in the wheel well behind some plastic. The harness looks okay. I read that the problem is actually inside the harness. Is this true? How do I take the harness apart to find out and fix it?

I have an 03 acura tl my headlight on the passenger side went out I checked fuses and the fuse was fine spent 100 for a new bulb replaced it and still didn't work and then on the same side my high beam...

check relay under the hood. also get a wire tester and check the wiring to theh eadlight and see if u have any juice going to it. if not then that is where your problem starts of tracing electric issue.

I have no low-beams. I replaced headlight switch, fuse and both bulbs. Still nothin. The wiring harness seems a bit burnt...could this be an issue?

Certainly a melted connector is an issue. I'd start with what you know is bad. You also said that the wiring harness seems melted. This could be a fused link. Its like a fuse set to pop at certain amps but its a piece of wire instead of a fuse. They're mainly in place to keep your harness from catching on fire. This would indicate a major short. Possibly from your switch. I'd re-wire the switch with good clean tight connections and consult a service manual about the location and size of fused links, replace accordingly. Also, spend some time inspecting the rest of your wiring to be sure you don't have a short elsewhere before powering back up. Please let me know how things work out or if you have more questions. Thanks and good luck!

Headlights do not work...already checked fuses and replaced bulbs....please help

if you have good bulbs and fuses it is either a harness issue (connection, damaged wires) or the light switch is defective.

How do I find the ground for my 2002 Grand Cherokee back lights? The lights and blinkers only work when they want to.

One of the things that you will want to check is the bulbs, and not necessarily the filament that is in them. My 03 Ram had the same issue and what was happening is that the conectors that are on the bulb housing were burnt in two and they would work when they wanted to. Chrysler replaced the entire bulb housing/board that the bulbs plugged in to and replaced the wiring and the issue was still there. I happened to double check their work to see if they really replaced what they said they did and when checking, I found that the bulbs were not replaced and that was the entire issue.
If you have a tow package and the wiring harness that will allow you to plug a trailer up, I would recommend checking that out as there is a box that the wires run through and sometimes the box will go bad. If there is a box there then there wil also be a ground wire that ties into the frame or subframe and sometimes they will lose connectirvity, had that happen on an Isuzu Rodeo. Check the easy stuff first as it is usually the issue and that will save you a lot of time. The las thing I would do is to trace the wires.

I hope that you have found this information useful as that is my goal.

Need to replace a left tail light fuse

There isn't a fuse for each side- it controls all your tail lights so if you have all except the l/s then your bulb is blown or you have a wire issue with that light. Take off the two screws from the inside edge (hex head) and pop out the light bulb and try a new one. That's a cheap fix, if that doesn't work then check the fuses or vise-a-versa, but I don't think you have a fuse issue. Have you ever been hit in the bumper? Unfortunately the wire harness runs right along the upper radius of the bumper from left to right and it really difficult to access, but if one of those wires has a pinch in it, it could cause your left light to not work. My daughter got rear ended and had this very problem and I have to pop off the fascia and access the harness and found the break. I doubt if you have that problem though...just theck your bulb.
