hope it helps I suspect that you have a starting problem usually there is 2 little wires Inside column steering connect to cyllinder key are cut
you can test it at the end of steering column 2 very little yellow wire ...put key in ignition cylinder and with ohm meter take resistor value if none wire is open circuit.
When you say won't turn over, do you mean that in order for the starter to engage you must press the gas pedal? Or do you mean that the vehicle will only fire and run once the gas pedal is pressed?

I have the same problem, but sometimes my 92 Firebird starts ans other times it clicks when I try starting. I had the starter rebuilt and still have the same problem. Checked wires from battery to starter and it's intact. Any suggestions?
Sorry i don't under what you are trying to say. I understand that mechinal language is IE special but you need to discribe the problem some what more clearly. All i get is you have aproblem with your starting motor . What is transfer am and starter switch wire it realy dosn't make any sence to me
common problem with older cars but it still applies, the starter is getting too hot and the armature is shorting, install a heat deflector between the starter and the exhaust, hopefully the starter is still good
Should be one big hot wire and one smaller solenoid wire that is hot in "start". There may also be a ground wire for the solenoid and a ground strap for the starter.
Facing the solenoid on the starter, the small (trigger) wire goes to the terminal on the right.Be careful that it does not touch the larger battery terminal and remember, the cover on the solenoid is plastic...tighten too much and you can break it.
