The problem is the light bulb behind the screen if you pull the radio out of the dash & pull the radio apart the bulb is right behind the screen with a little work you can get it out, and you can buy it at a pontiac/gm garage. Part # 16208443. Good Luck

Odd about the speakers not working only when its hot out but anyways,
There is a bulb in the radio that shines throught the LCD panel to show the display, it could be burnt out, or just not getting connection.
You can rig up a bulb in the radio fairly easy, just go hit up your local Radio Shack, or go on Ebay and search for "GM Radio Bulb" they are about 20 bucks.
For the rear speakers, i'd check the connection through the trunk to make sure they aren't loose.

Take your car to a dealer and tell them to "clean the throttle body" Known problem for this year. It will solve your issue.
