It could be a few things, as you've just bought the vehicle, the first thing to do is give it an oil change, with new oil filter, also clean or replace the air filter, those two things will solve most problems, if its still smokey, change the fuel filter, and put injector cleaner in with your diesel. last resort is to get your injectors nozzles replaced and the fuel pump checked by the professionals

SOURCE: black smoke on my nissan terrano when you put

black smoke usually indicates to much fuel being delivered. If this is the case you need to correct it soon or you will damage the catalytic convertor. What year is the vehicle and how many miles on it? Is there a check engine light on? this info would help

It sounds like your fuel pressure is too high. Test fuel pressure against specifications.

SOURCE: nissan terrano td27 has no power at all doesnt

!st thing I would suggest is - remove the air metering module, above the air filter, the little black box with the wires going to it, on the inside of this module is a very fine wire, carefully clean it with fuel-system and carburetor cleaner spray, and reinstall the module.
A build up of residue on this wire, will cause an incorrect value for the airflow into the engine, the computer then injects the correct amount of fuel for that amount of air. Less air = less fuel = less power!

You will need to have the transmission removed to access the torque converter. A new torque converter should fix things unless debris from the damage has spread throughout the trans, in which case a strip down of the trans is the way to go...or a new/secondhand trans is installed.......

My nissan terrano emits black smoke and uses a lot of engine oil

either the valve stem oil seals have gone which means oil is trikeling into piston thats causes black smoke or worst case oil rings on pistons gone but the smoke will have a bluey tinge to it also may just need a service and tune up hope this helps ivan
