Where are the bushings and how easy are they to install? Seems like an easy job, dealer wants $85 for job and it's a $10 part. Any ideas?? Thanks.

Intake Manifold Runner Control stuck open the problem is that the actuator the plug that goes to it the black blue wire has only 3 volts suppose to have 5

Does the actuator have butterfly's controlled with an arm to the actuator? If so, the bushings for that actuator ma cracked and the arm fell out. It may not be the power.

Ford F140 4.2 Do Engine codes P0305, P0306, and P1518 relate to each other

I am assuming you mean F150 truck.
The answer is maybe.
Code 305 and 306 are missfire codes for cylinders 5 and 6.
Code 1518 is for a problem with the intake manifold runner control which could cause the other two codes.

P1518 FORD Description The Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) is monitored for failure during continuous or key ON engine OFF self-test.
Possible causes - Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) harness is open or shorted
- Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) actuator
- Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)

WHERE ARE THE BUSHINGS AVAILABLE? THE DEALER WANTS 50.00 + FOR A ENTIRE ARM AND BUSHINGS

Lots of major auto parts stores and online sellers have the bushings, but it will cost you about the same to have the bushings installed into your old control arm as just buying a new arm with bushings that you could install on your car by yourself. Comes down to personal choice, I guess.

How do find out if your ircm is any good

The IMRC (intake manifold runner control) is vacuum operated so that you have a larger intake tract at higher rpms making the engine capable of more power. It is defective if the engine falls flat on it's face at low reps (IMRC's stuck open) or you get no power above 3000 RPM (stuck shut).

Check the vacuum canister to see if, when you apply vacuum, it moves the arm that attaches to the butterflys. You just need a vacuum hose long enough to attach to the metal tube, and **** on the hose, observing if the arm moves (it doesn't require much, about 5 lbs/sq in)- If it does not move, either the canister is bad or the butterfly mechanism is stuck, usually due to bushings in the IMRC being bad. You would then have to remove the intake to get the assembly off, and rebuild it installing new bushings. Replacing the canister is the preferrable problem, since it is easier to do than removing the intake and IMRC plate. Good luck.

Check engine light on..code short runner valve control malfuction

P1004 - SHORT RUNNER VALVE CONTROL PERFORMANCE

Sound like something came loose. If you cannot find it you need to take it to the dealer so they can perform these diagnostics. Should be under warranty.

The engine performance and power output is enhanced through the use of the "short runner valve" (SRV) system. The SRV system allows the intake charge air to bypass the long intake manifold runners between the intake manifold plenum and the intake manifold interface to the cylinder heads by providing a shorter runner directly between the plenum and the cylinder head interface.

The SRV position is controlled by a pneumatic/spring actuator and electronic solenoid valve. When the solenoid is not energized (the "rest" position), the SRV is held in the closed position. When the solenoid is energized the SRV is moved and held in its opened position. There is a set of enable conditions including a minimum engine coolant and ambient temperature, SRV enable, and Powertrain Coordinator load enable condition. If any of these conditions are not met, then the SRV valve is de-energized (closed).

* When Monitored: With the engine run time above a calibrated value, battery voltage greater than 10.4 volts, ECT within a specific range, and the Short Runner Valve Assembly (SRV) control active.
* Set Condition: The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) compares the circuit feedback to a calibrated closed range, between 75% & 85% Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) duty cycle, when the circuit is de-energized or to a calibrated open range, between 35% & 55% PWM duty cycle, when the circuit is energized. If the value is determined to be out of the calibrated range in either the de-energized, greater than 85% duty cycle or less than 75% duty cycle, or energized, greater than 55% duty cycle or less than 35% duty cycle, state for more than a calibrated amount of time, this DTC will set.

Possible Causes
(F344) ASD RELAY OUTPUT CIRCUIT OPEN OR HIGH RESISTANCE
(K237) SHORT RUNNER VALVE (SRV) SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND
(K237) SHORT RUNNER VALVE (SRV) SIGNAL CIRCUIT OPEN OR HIGH RESISTANCE
(K238) SHORT RUNNER VALVE (SRV) CONTROL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND
(K238) SHORT RUNNER VALVE (SRV) CONTROL CIRCUIT OPEN OR HIGH RESISTANCE SHORT RUNNER VALVE (SRV) ASSEMBLY

Hope this helps (remember to rate and comment this answer).

Would the control arm bushings make a metal to metal noise . lot of play in those bushings.dont know if the problem is the bushings or ball joints?

If you see a lot of side play in the control arm bushings, replace them.
Even if they aren't the source of the noise you hear, they are very important and should not be ignored. While you are doing that work, it will give you an opportunity to get a good look at the ball joints. If they are rusted under the rubber boots or have excessive play, change those as well. (also look at the brakes and other steering components,,,, they all have a job to do and keep your vehicle safe on the road).
One thing...If the bushings and joints both are bad, you could consider getting a complete control arm from a scrapyard. Cheaper and easier to install.
