SOURCE: 2006 kia sorento windshield wiper hang up

When you put the wipers on, you positioned them incorrectly so now they go where they shouldn't.
To fix this you need to first make note of which one goes over the other and keep them that way.

Next, put a piece of tape on the windshield where you think they normally go and use that as your target when reinstalling them. Your tape target will probably be 6 -8 inches above the base of the windshield. The wipers should be almost level when at rest.

You'll have to position them with the wiper motor off and in the 'park' position, which means that you turn them on, then turn them off (not with the key) and let them go down to the bottom of the windshield. At that point, you can begin repositioning them.

Good luck!

SOURCE: 2006 sorento wipers wont go down all the way when off

The wiper motor has a park mode built in. It's one of two possible problems. The park mode is bad and the motor needs to be replaced. Usually this can be identified by the wipers stopping all over the place.
The second is that the linkage off of the motor has moved, and it will park in the same spot all of the time. Here you need to release the motor to linkage nut, and move the arms to where they should be, and retighten.

Hello Michael Wallace,

http://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/kia,2006,sorento,3.5l+v6,1432794,heat+&+air+conditioning I've

gone through the parts available... there seems to be several references to mode motors, A/C, Transfer Case... Even windshield wiper motor "PARK" mode (typically a parking motor reversal "MODE" that draws (old retractable wipers under cover... popular in the early 1970's... well before KIA)...

I only got into this because your question got SPAMMED out of the mainstream...

I've even gone to BBB Industries (registration required) to see if their bulletins had any MODE issue.

Could you resubmit what a MODE MOTOR is...
and perhaps some of our more competent VOLUNTEERS
can step forward and give you meaningful assistance.

Sorry about the SPAM from jamessizer... I'll try to have it removed.

SINCERE Apologies!

2006 Kia sorento air conditioner and windshield wipers stopped working

It may be possible , these newer cars use so many modules and computers , there are not like the older cars. its is like the your problem it could be getting power for a few fuse locations.

The best thing to do would be to check all the fuses . the inside and the under the hood fuse boxes.

One fuse could power the a/c and then another power the module and another power the same module and if one of the three blow then things operated by the module may not operate, so the answer again , it may be related or not so check all the fuses first. good day
