SOURCE: Saturn vue 2007, rear folding seat will not return

They have a problem with the seatbelt retractor getting jammed up causing the belt to jam & not let the rear seat fold back up.The easiest way to get the seat back up is to cut the seatbelt & fold up the seat. Then the rear seat needs to be disassembled to gain access to the seatbelt retractor assy which has the seat belt made on.Hopefully it's still under warranty or Ext. warranty.hope this helps

SOURCE: rear seat is stuck in the down position in my 2004 honda odyssey

after spending an hour or so, with your hands, arms, fingers and lower back aching....you will kick yourself if the solution is just THIS easy. Trust me, we speak from experience!!

Many times, the rear seat in the van is folded and down in the well compartment, and for the life of you, it wont come up. The problem, you may think is because, like us, you were a dope and let the strap fall to the bottom and you can't leverage it up. or maybe you spent an hour online praying and searching for a solution; only to find NOTHING! ha. well, we thought about setting up a fee for this, but, na, we thought it would be nicer to just list the easy solution for FREE!

ok, here it is....many times what you think is folded and down....is NOT REALLY fully down. if it didnt CLICK down, it aint down. which means its "ALMOST" down. so dont beat yourself pulling UP on it if its not YET DOWN!
solution: climb in and onto the 'down' third seat, and jump on the mother F*&^^R, and you will hear a soft 'click'.
NOW its "DOWN".
all you have to do is simply, effortlessly (strap or NO strap) lift that damn third seat up.

Yes, its that easy.
AND....it may just save your MARRIAGE!

shucks maam, thanks is all i need! :)

Pt cruiser stuck middle seat belt

The problem:
The set belt stop has been lost so the seat belt retracts too far when the seat is laid flat. When laid flat the release mechanism lock as it should when not level. So the seat cannot be raised up as the belt is too tight and locked.
The Solution:
1) Push the two little clips to release and remove the headrests.
Pull the grey lever on the right of the seat base, lift seat base up and forward toward the front seat..
2) See two red capped leversat the back of the two seat hinges and lever them to the upward position, this releases the seat.
Rock the very heavy seat unit upwards and lift complete unit upwards.
3) Take it out of the car and turn 180% so that the back of the seat and base are in the upward position and the seat belt will pull out as it should
4) Replace the missing belt locking stop (I used a tie pin permanently fixed using super glue).
5) Fold seat back down and test then either re-fit seat unit or leave out to decrease fuel consumption..

2003 Volkswagen Passat Center Rear Belt Locked

The fix is:
  • remove the seat bench,
  • unscrew the bolt attaching the seat belt to the body,
  • return the seat back to its upright position and make sure it latches
  • reattach the seat belt
  • replace the seat bench
To prevent this from happening again:
  • Leave the seat belt latch in its receiver when not in use.
