2000 gmc jimmy will not go into overdrive?


This is usually a transmission problem (probably the torque converter lock solenoid not engaging, and there can be a number of reasons for this). A transmission shop can sort this out.

My 2000 silhouette willnot change gear 5 or to overdrive


Sounds like the torque converter lockup is not working. IT could be that a solenoid has failed or the torque converter is bad. This is not going to be cheap

My overdrive indicator light located on the end of the wiper switch is blinking


check the transmission fluid, when it is low it can make the overdrive light blink

It is probably not shifting into overdrive properly. Can you feel it shift through all the gears?

1997 Silhouette Transmission Problem


The diag port is on left side under the dash. You will need a good scan tool to get the trans data for testing pressures

Electrical problem


mine did the same thing,it would not shift into overdrive,when it did it kept downshifting. I had to replace the sensor that tells the transmission when to shift and not to. I think it was the shift sensor.
