Light of ABS is always on . on my Golf 2001 manual diesel. I have had no problem with ABS but light stays on since 1 year ago, Can I turn it off

Only way to turn it off would be to remove the ABS sensor (bad idea and potentially dangerous) or to replace the brake sensor. The part runs between $40-60 and is relatively easy to install.

My 93 caravan 3.3 has abs can i disconnect the system, and go regular brakes.no problem now,i bought used a month ago,and afraid of future repair cost,on standard brakes i can fix,but not abs.please help,

Yes this is an acceptable quick fix if you can stand the ABS light on. You now have non ABS standard power brakes. Folks survived without ABS for many years. I personally hate ABS systems.

I have a '94 GEO Prizm 1.6L. The ABS light stays on all the time. I checked the brakes and bled them and everything look, feels and sounds fine. Could it be a sensor on my brakes? and how do I change the...

Your ABS light is on for good. It will not shut off unless you fix the brake system which is usually more than the car is worth. Most people just use black tape. I took out my bulb 10 years ago. The brakes still work fine, just no anti lock brakes, i never noticed a difference. I had another guy say his car wouldn't run when the light came on, I never heard that before. Hope this helps.

I have a 1994 316i and i can't find the location of the abs controller. My abs light is constantly lit and have had it on the diagnostic but not showing any faults. Can you help?

Most people, when the light comes on, your abs is down, either fix it or not, you still have brakes, but no abs, so most can't afford the $1500 to put into a 12 year old car. They tape over the light and drive away. My light came on 8 years ago, I took out the bulb. Never noticed the difference. The unit in front of the power assist unit is what needs changing,,, I think,, Not sure, It is called, ABS Hydrolic Unit , the ABS Pump Motor ,and the ABS Module could be at fault also. So, if it was the rear only, it would be great, when was the last time you had to stomp on your brakes? Get out the tape, I didn't tell you that, it is what I did. Hope this helps.

Have replaced ABS module on bmw 525 E39 and ABS now ok, but the ASC lamp will not go off on the dash and fault code 23 (incorrect coding) will not clear from system? Everyone told us the ABS ecu does not...

ABS/ASC module is faulty
CLASSIC ABS FAILURE SYMPTOMS:
- Most of the time, the problem is the ABS module or one of the 4 wheel speed sensors (& sometimes the brake pressure sensor)
- In my 2002 BMW E39 DSC, three orange (warning) cluster display lights lit, ABS, Brake, & DSC
- The 3 warning lights reset when the ignition is turned off, only to repeatedly reappear within minutes of normal driving
- The fault is often intermittent leading you to falsely believe you've resolved the problem (proper diagnosis is important)
- Sometimes the fault only appears when the engine is hot; other times only at speeds over 40 mph
- Carsoft may erroneously show a rear speed sensor failure; but just replacing the speed sensor may make no difference.
- All the work is in correct diagnosis of the problem; parts replacement is trivial (from 1 to six bolts in a few minutes)
- Hence, this BMW E39 ABS 3-warning light DIY will concentrate on understanding and diagnosis of the problem

Bleeding brakes on 98 yukon

Open the bleeders on the calipers in this order and let gravity bleed. Front pass & Driver rear then front driver & pass rear. ABS could be damaged if fluid is forced in to ABS Manifold when depressing piston in caliper. The correct way is to clamp brake line open bleeder then depress the piston. The key word here is COULD,

ABS and Brake Light on

Sounds like you have a bad sensor. No you can not hurt anything by driving with the light on, but you do want to try to keep your warning lights clear

My brakes lose power system intermittently

It's quite possible you may need to check out your ABS system. Certain GM light trucks of that year, and a few in subsequent years had issues with the EBCM (electronic brake control module) These units are mounted on top of the ABS valve body, under the vehicle, on the left frame rail (all the brake tubing is attached). Sometimes the faulty unit would cause the electric ABS motor to continue running even after ignition shut down. Sometimes they would cause erratic ABS actuation. The other thing may be a faulty vacuum check valve at the brake booster. If that valve goes bad, your brake pedal will be really high and hard to depress. On some 1/2 ton GM trucks with vacuum assist power brakes, there is an electronic sensor that measure vacuum to the booster. In those instances typically a warning message will come across the drivers info center on the instrument panel. I hope this info can help.
