Question about 1999 Chevrolet Blazer

Vehicle won't engage, it will not start

I have a 1999 chevy blazer and it won't start. I think it needs a tune-up. But when I looked under the hood, wow, I did not see any spark plugs or wires. Are they under the motor? I could use some instructions. short on cash, so I can not go to repair shop.

The spark plugs are only accessable thru the fender wells on these and are a pain to replace. Most likely that is not your starting problem however. Was it running fine one day then the next day it just wouldn't start? If that is the case it probably is a bad fuel pump. When you turn the key to the run position you should hear the fuel pump come on for 5 seconds and then shut off. It should be a medium pitch whine and sound smooth. Unfortunatly pumps for these are not cheap or are they easy to replace. You are looking at around $600 at a repair shop.

Look in the very back center of motor and you will see the distributar cap with 7 wires coming off of it. this will lead to the spark plugs that are under the exhast manifold. but i dont think this is the starting problem. what does it do when you turn the key?

1998 chevy blazer fuel pump wont shut off how do

I don't think you can on that vehicle-probably not a code, anyway. Check the fuel pump relay, it may be stuck on. Should be located in the power distribution box under hood. Pull it out-pump should stop-swap in a different relay to test. If pump still runs on with new relay, the wiring to the relay needs checked.

The shifter button on my 1997 chevy blazer won,t engage

Do you have a 4 wheel drive? The electric button for shifting may have died. Replacement of the control is what I would look at. Happened with my 1999 blazer.

My chevy blazer has a problem with the headlights and its not the fuse what could it be

I am going to need more info. " problem with headlights " ? I will guess you are telling me they do not turn on ( ? ) Is there anything else electrically that is not working ?
You have your fuses inside your vehicle, but there are also fuses, and relays under the hood.
Open your hood. Standing in front of the vehicle look for a plastic box marked " FUSES / RELAYS "
Open this plastic box. Under the cover should be a map of which fuse, and relay belong to what.
Let me know what you find.

1999 Chevy Blazer ABS Light and Parking Brake Light

You will need to find out which speed sensor has gone bad. Only way to know it to hook it up to a scan tool. The burning smell is possibly a caliper sticking as these vehicles are bad about them sticking after brake pad replacement.

Broken hood

look under the car or behind the grill there should be a black cable running to the under side of hood.if you ''skin'' the black plastic back you will find a metal take two pairs of to hold the black casing and one to pull the wire.that should open hood.once hood is open you'll see where cable attaches to hood latch.that cable needs replacing.

Purge solenoid location

which vehicle are you actually looking for the purge solenoid on? you have 2 vehicles listed in your question. i'll answer both, lol

the locations are described as if you are looking at the engine from the front of the car with hood open.

on the blazer:

it is located on the left side of the intake manifold just under and behind the throttlebody. it is a canister looking device.

on the silverado:

it is located on the intake manifold on the left side in about the same spot as the blazer. providing the silverado has the 5.3 or 5.7 liter engine. if it also has the 4.3 then obviously it will be the same.

hope this helps!
