Hi there.... This sounds like an oxygen sensor has fail for bank 1. you can try rep;pacing the sensor and see what happens. the oxygen sesor is located on the exhaust in front of you catalytic converter. There should be two ( one one either pipe coming form the engine). If I remember the santa fe correctly , Bank 1 is the passenger side bank of the engine. Hope this helps you out

P2097 code has two fault locations. 1) post catalytic converter fuel trim (FT), bank 1 - too rich. possible cause Catalytic converter. 2) Heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) 1,bank 1 range/ performance- circuit low. if it's running fine. probably just need to put an oxygen sensor in it.

2008 uplander code p0172 bank 1 fuel to rich

I recommend having a shop take a look at it. It could just be the O2 sensor, or you really could have an injector putting too much fuel in one cylinder. A mechanic would watch the data stream coming from the sensor on a scanner to judge if the sensor is working or not.

1994 Blazer 4.3 keeps stalling out running rich smells like gas

Leaking fuel pressure regulator , or leaking injector's ,depends on injection system . ! it's only running rich on right bank. whatever that means . Your vehicle is a v - 6 has two banks . right side of the engine an left side of the engine . Bank 1 is where #1 spark plug is . bank 1 is odd numbers 1-3-5 Bank 2 is even firing #'s 2-4-6 . What fuel injection system does it have ?
Your best bet mite be to take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop.

89 Chevy Sprint takes about 5 minutes to warm up to be able to drive away or it stalls when I give it gas. The engine will rev up for 3-4 seconds then drop down and almost stall and then rev again during...

Plug the vacuum line you unplugged and the idle should come back. Change your air filter and the map sensor. check for correct coolant level and replace the coolant temp. sensor. This sensor affects cold starting and idle through the ECU (open loop mode, rich fuel mapping and 1200 rpm idle) It should go to closed loop mode in the ECU once engine warm up is achieved ( lean fuel mapping and normal 900 rpm idle). Do not unplug anything else till you perform an OBDII scan of the stored fault history

A rich codes is hard to get. Something is restricting the airflow or you have something wrong with the fuel control. Check the air filter and if it is good. I would wonder if you have a leaking fuel injector. Do you know how to do a cylinder drop test? How well does it idle? Does it smell of raw fuel at idle? Is it hard to start after sitting?
