I cranked it and it ran fine yesterday i drove it probably 10 mi and it idle sitting still for probably an hour or so i went to crank it today and it fired off and died now it won't crank at all i sprayed some carb and throttle body cleaner in the throttle body and it tryed to start but didn't any suggestions on what i should try? O yea it has a 37 gal fuel tank and it is full of gas im thinking its something to do with the old gas PS It was inside of a shop for the entire time it was not outside in the elements
Check the fuel pump, modern fuels will dry out the diagram and it can crack and it may work for awhile then fail. The fuel may have turned sludgy and cloged the line. You can clear the line with compressed air. If that's the problem you will need to clean tank.
If it won't crank over, it's not a fuel issue, but a starting circuit issue. The gas may be stale, but if tank was full all that time, I don't think that would be a problem.
Pull off the small wire on the starter solenoid, and see if it has power when key is held in crank position. If power there, the starter or solenoid or the battery connections from battery to starter need to be checked or tested. If no power to solenoid when key is in cranking position, the ignition switch may be bad or the neutral safety switch (or the clutch start switch if a manual) or the starter relay needs to be checked.
If you get it cranking, and still no start, look down the throttle body bore and watch your injector spray pattern while the engine is cranking-you should see a fine, cone spray pattern coming from the bottom of the injector. If it just drips and no cone pattern, or no gas coming out, injectors need cleaning (probably from stale gas). Good luck.
Im sorry i must have worded wrong in my plea for help the starter work the moter turns over when i try and crank it, it jus wont fire up thanku and sorry
Oh no problem. still no go? gotta be spark or gas, then, likely. Do as I suggested with the throttle body to check for atomized gas spraying into your intake- I suspect a lot of cranking, trying to start ,would produce some gas smelll
furthermore,...so if you got gas, then check the ignition system by checking for
something wrong with comment section--check for spark at the sp plug

What about the fuel filter????? Have you changed it out??? If you can spary something like a started fluid, that means it is a fuel problem. My last check, it has to be above 50-psi on the fuel pressure to make it run right. I had 35psi, but whould not get over 30mph or down hill maybe 45mph. Check both filter & pressure, but check pressure with a New fule filter!!!!
You are saying that the engine will crank or turn over but will not start? If so then you must fine out if the engine has both fuel and spark. after that you can get into the right direction. You can use starting fluid to see is there is a fuel issue. Read the directions on the can. Using too much can harm you and/or your engine.
