Question about 2001 Chevrolet Astro

1 Answer

Gas pedal sticks

When starting forward or backwards the gas pedal seems to be hung up on something and you have to press hard and the van takes off fast, not good especially when backing out of a parking space.

Ok, Get a little WD-40 and spray the Linkage from the Fuel injection back to the Pedal. Should be a Thin Plastic Cover over the Likage. Put a LITTLE on the Actuator Part that hooks to the Fuel Injection this should get ya Goin!

Sticking gas pedal

its either the throttle cable is binding or you could just loosen the clamp off the rubber intake boot. and pull it off the intake and pull open the throttle and clean the butter fly that opens and closes and see if that helps, if its really dirty with old oil carbon build up itll feel really sticky. does this help

Check the bushes at the top of the pedel. Also check the cable and replace the cable if it is not serviceable. Adjust as recommeded by VW.
