First try to manually unlock the shift lock mechanism located on gear shift selector and if that does not work check to see if the linkage is lined up correctly with the according gears, good luck the answer lays within the time of removal and installation, just double check everything.

SOURCE: 04 nissan sentra shifting hard

Do you have a CVT? (Continuosly Variable Transmission) I doubt that you do so if you dont, nissans are known to have hard shift into second gear you mean.(Once the car moves, its already in first gear) so if it shifts fine into other gears, I wouldnt worry too much unless it gets worse.

Probably sensors! I have already replaced the crankshaft positioning sensor once, nissan replaced it once under recall and now it is bad again! Plus my speed sensor is bad too! Go to any part store and get diagnostic test ran, it will tell what sensors are bad.

Altima 2007 automatic transmission have in problem it don't move out off first gear I carry the car for a scan code 1777 came up this is my email address [email protected]

This code is for the transmission stepper motor/circuit. It controls fluid pressures using solenoids. It will not shift if there is a problem with this motor or its circuit

Ihave code p0731 stuck in 1st ratio .. what mean that code?

obviously refers to auto trans , could just need the trans fluid level topping up or even changing , if this does'nt resolve the problem then a more in depth diagnosis would be required at a repair shop as could be the ECU for example but do the fluid checks and go from ther ,keep me posted

1995 Nissan Altima Stuck in First Gear

1. check transmission fluid level or if you can change the fluid & filter.
2. check throttle position sensor (tps).
3. if fluid level & tps are ok & still not upshifting automatically, temporarily (so you can take it to a transmission specialist) , try to manually shift. starting from dead stop, shift to D1. at about 25mph shift to D2. (be gentle on the accelerator & don't over rev on each gear. release accelerator pedal & don't step on the brakes while shifting from D1 & D2).

Transmission won't shift into high gear.

are there any codes? Does it shift ok in 1st and 2nd? sounds like your over drive shift solenoid or your 3 and 4 shift solenoid is stuck and needs to be replaced

Altima Transmission Flare. My 2003 Altima will shift normally at first starting but when the gear come back to 1st at a stop moving to 2nd will be a problem this means when the car is warm its hard to...

The transmission is failing here, you need a transmission repair shop tech to drive this and give you the finale word but i think you will need a transmission rebuild.

AUTOMATIC TRANS

on automatic transmissions Ok,1st check the transmission fluid level if low or if any at all, 2nd you might check your trans shift solenoids, or the wiring to the solenoids verify which solenoid you might need to replace by google it can show you a location of the 2nd and 3rd. If this doesn't cover the issue the next step is a tech to work on the transmission cause it could be and internal issue.

2008 Nissan Altima won't shift gears while driving

If the RPM's Flare, youv'e gone too long without
recognizing a trans that slips

It will have to come out & be rebuilt, most likely.
