If the trans was overfull, it will airate the fluid. The resulting air bubbles are carried through the system. Since air does not have the same pressure values as oil, Apply pressures to clutches, servos and bands will be decreased, causing burning of friction surfaces. if this is not severe, somrtimes just changing fluid and filter may restore operation. Even so, at the least, you have added a substantial wear to the unit, reducing it's expected lifespan.
Where I would go from here is to change trans fluid & filter. If that has little or no effect, the unit will need to be rebuilt!
good luck

How do I fix transmission codes P0700, P0731, P0841, P0845, P0870, P0876 on 2002 Jeep Liberty 3.7 engine. Trans oil is not burnt

how many miles on it 50k 500k? what? on this KJ jeep

ever seen a book called the FSM. sold at jeep
and the chapter on transmission;
it covers this. tells you which each DTC means. (setup and test conditions for each monitor)
my guess this is the 42RLE trans.
right?
p0700 is PCM code saying,TCM is not happy, see its codes fully.

read the TSB on this box yet, it has problems. read them.

http://www.fixkick.com/Jeeps/tanny42RLE.html

you never once stated if the trans shifts perfectly or not.
nor if say it did, you clean the DTCs (press reset)
and they all come back. driving..
right?

Low/Reverse (LR).
The Transmission Control Module (TCM) has detected a pressure switch open or closed at an incorrect time. even a bad trans ground strap can do this.

The Transmission system uses three pressure switches to monitor the fluid pressure in the LR, 2/4, and OD elements. The pressure switches are continuously monitored for the correct states in each gear. The 2/4 pressure switch monitors the fluid pressure to the 2/4 clutch to confirm proper operation of the 2/4 solenoid. If the 2/4 pressure switch is identified as closed in P or N, the code will immediately be set and normal operation will be allowed for that given key start. If the problem is identified for 3 successive ignition cycles, the transmission will go into limp-in mode.
if the shop checks line pressure (they all do !)
and its ok.
then the sensors might be fibbing (read wrong)
if they do the trans CAN NOT shift right.
its 100% electronically shifted by inputs, speed and pressure.

2004 olds alero transmission fluid how much to fill up

fill it to just above the low level , check it while it is running, (in park) ;-) on a level surface. drive it around the block to warm up the trans, check it again, if it is still low then add some to the full line, check again while running. (don't add fluid when running) it should stay at the full mark at this point.

How much gear oil does the transfer case on a 1999 jeep grand cherokee

You will need to buy three quarts but you won't use all of it. Make sure that you can open the fill plug BEFORE you drain it to avoid problems. After draining, replace the drain plug and fill with Dexron III or Dex/Mercon (both are automatic trans fluids). Fill on a level surface 'till the fluid reaches the bottom lip of the fill plug. For severe service, I always replace part of the trans fluid with Lucas trans conditioner.

What kind of gear oil is required for my 1992 jeep wrangler 5 speed transmission/transfer case and how many quarts will it require

Transmission generally takes a bit less than two quarts, Use 75/90 gear lube in that (in very cold climates you can add a small amount of automatic trans fluid to keep it flowing on cold starts) Transfer case takes a bit over one quart and takes dextron mercon 3. When filling either, fluid is full when on a level surface it begins to come out of the fill hole while filling. When changing either, always make sure you can open the fill plug before draining so you know you can replace what you removed.

JUST STARTED HAVEING TRANNY PROBLEM SO I'M ABOUT TO CHANGE THE FILTER HOW MUCH ATF4 QUARTS OF FLUID DOES A 2004 JEEP GRAND CHERAKEE TAKE WITH I BOTTLE OF LUCAS TRANS. FIX?

Best way to refill is to put additive in first, then add fluid till full. If you can do this safely, run car with both rear wheels off the ground after filling and run through the gears. Make sure you do not try to go from foreward gears to reverse or park while wheels are spinning. When doing this vehicle should be on a lift or on very good jackstands with nothing in front of car for a good distance. Alternate method is to drive slowly putting little pressure on trans till gear shifts have been completed. After this, re-check unit for full.

Even though you dropped the pan there is still a lot of fluid in the valve body which drained down over time. The torque converter will not drain out from gravity. I hope you changed the tranny filter at the time you removed the pan. I am sure that you did.

Tranny is slipping

If the tranny is slipping and it's an automatic it's time to rebuild it or replace it with a rebuilt from a good tranny rebuilder with an exchange unit. That's about the only option you have here.
