Question about 2005 Volkswagen GTI

Broken cigerette lighter Golf GTI

Hi,
My cigerette lighter blew the other day when I tried to connect an old mp3 player. I think I blew the fuse. My Sat Nav or phone charge will now not work.

Does anyone know what i can do?
is it a fuse I need to change?
If so where do I change the fuse?

Kindest regards
John F

You might check the fuses under the dash on the drivers side

Doubt if its the fuse but more like the positive link on the bottom of the holder ,their is a link piece from the connection to the centre piece and do burn out with regular monotony

Yes that could be the problem. I have had that happen to me before. Try a different phone adapter I did and it fixed the problem. It may help you.

I'm looking to do do 2 things with my 99 Taurus LX Sedan...replace the original Stereo with 99 that has a CD player or add Cd changer...which is more practical? Also where is the fuse for Cigerette...

buy a single cd/radio,that way you will not carry hundreds of dollars worth of discs around, also get one where you can plug in your mp3 player in,then you will not need discs, which are now obsolete anyway.
