Remove the window by un-doing the two bolts at bottom, then undo bolts that secure window mechanism to door. I think you will find that it is not the gear that is stripped. The shaft that supports the gearruns in a pressed steel bush, this is what will have worn. I just cleaned away the sahrds and tacked on a nut of the right size to act as a replacement bush.

  1. Raise the window glass to the full-up position if possible. If the glass cannot be raised and is in a partially down or full-down position, it must be supported so that it will not fall into the door well when removing the window motor.

  3. Remove the door trim panel and watershield.
  4. Detach the window motor harness connector.

  1. Remove the three window motor mounting screws.
  2. Remove the window motor.

To install:

  1. Position the window motor to the power window regulator. Install the three screws snugly but do not tighten all the way.
  2. Attach the window regulator electric drive wires at the connector and cycle the door window glass to make sure the motor gear engages. After the gears are engaged, tighten the three window motor retaining screws to 54-88 inch lbs.(6-10 Nm).
  3. Connect the negative battery cable.
  4. Check the power window for proper operation.
  5. Install the door trim panel and watershield.

Hi both rear windows in my toyota hilux surf which are electric are stuck and I am unable to get them back up, does anyone have any ideas how I can fix this problem.

The only way would be to remove the door pannels and find whats wrong, disconnet electric motors if it is equipped they had both mechanical and electrical so which do you have? Do you just want to get them up or fix them? If it's electric check your fuses first, that should be the first thing you do. If it's mechanical you will have to remove the window crank and the arm rest and lock button by turning it counter clockwise if round if a long square lock knob cover will lift over it. once it is off check the slide rails to see if they have come apart if they have it can be fixed but you will have to take it to a welding shop to get it spot welded. If the Gears that operate are stripped you will have to replace them, if the rollers have come out at the bottom rail you will have to replace the rollers or insatll them back in the rail. Let me know what you have and I will give you some information for this problem.

Rear window fell down need help fixing

You'll need to remove your door panel (screws are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door) and pull back the weather seal (can't reuse the seal) in order to see the assembly. It sounds like either the support arm broke, or the gears are stripped

"removing inside door panel on a 1995 toyota tercel"

I searced everywhere to find this when I needed the answer. I read to take a hankerchief or thin fabric under the window crank until it pops off, then you are able to go around the edge of the door panel and pop it off. I had a hard time with the window weather stripping, never quite did figure out how to remove the entire door panel because of this, but had access from the bottom of the door. I also never figured out how to successfully re-attach the window crank, so hopefully you have better luck than I did. Hope this helps.

Replaced wiper motor, twice, when i turn it on the arms move about two inches, then stop .then they.sound like there slipping .just move up &down about two inches. 88 celebrity

This doesn't sound like a motor problem but a gear stripped. The motor and gear are normally sold and installed as a single unit. See if you can move the arm manually. If you get a lot of slop it could be a stripped gear. Turn the wipers on and move the arm manually. It may catch and than stop at the broken part of the gear.

Need to remove door panel to repair window that is off track

There is a spring clip that holds your window crank on. Your best bet is to get a window crank remover. You can get one at most automotive parts stores. They're only a couple of bucks. You shove it in behind the crank, and then turn the crank, and it'll pop the clip off. When you re-install it, put the clip on the handle, line it up where you want it to be when the window is closed, and give it a bang with your hand. It should pop back on.
The arm rest will most likely be held with a couple of large philip's head screws. They are usually on the bottom side of the arm rest, sometimes the top, sometimes hidden by nylon plugs. Some vehicles only have one screw, and then you slide the arm rest forward to remove it.
I'm sure you'll figure it out once you start looking. Good luck!

to remove the regulator ("window crank gears") Remove the glass held in with two 10mm bolts. The regulator itself is held in with six 10mm bolts. Remove these bolts and remove the regulator. (installation is reverse). Note: pay attention to the Idler arm track (highlighted in green) I think this one is directional (the front has to be at the front and the back has to be at the rear)
