Code 1297 for Chrysler products means the MAP sensor is not changing the signal when it should. Usually the sensor is not working but it could be something else. The MAP sensor would need to be tested.
have you checked the leads or dispac. any cracks in leads or rubbers change. dispack you need to take this out and check for splits in the case. and water damage if any replace. also check the fuel line filter. and pressure valve on fuel line.
if you have an engine cranem you can hold the engine, disconnect the engine and transmission mounts (disconnect the battery first) and raise the engine assembly up enough to clear the pan out of the way, just remember it has to be high enough to clear the oil pick up.......if not, engine out unfortunately
when the manufacturer creates a vehicle, they are not fussed too much about the serviceability of the engine itself, as it should last the warranty period.....oh, well, what do you do
if you havent already check your coolant level or have it checked the heat you feel is engine heat not enough coolant=no heat you might also notice if you rev the engine it blows warmer air. hard to tell without looking at the car
What engine code(s) are you getiing? Try cycling key to, on ,off, on, off, on & leave on. (not start) now count flashes from check engine light. will be flashes, pause ,flashes for 2 digit #'s. For example: 2 flashes , pause, 2 more is code 22. 3 flashes,pause, 3 more, is code 33. Write them down & get back to us. By the way when you get 55, thats end of message.
