HI there .... by the sounds of what you are saying, you have a bad starter. One way to find out for sure is if you can get at the starter, tap it with a hammer and then try starting or have someone try to start the car while you are tapping on the starter. if the car starts then you have a bad starter and need to replace it. Hope this helps you out

hi
my car wont start for the first time, the headlights and all the interior lights work. whenever i crank it, its not turning over. I drove to work no problems. while i was at work, i was testing the fuses on the inside of the car. 2 hours later my car wont start. I tried jump starting, but that doesn't help. I tried disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it, but that doesnt help either. does the fuse on the inside of my car has anything to do with it not starting? I have a 2000 nissan maxima. please help.
2003 Nissan Maxima would not turn over, even though there was power to headlights, dash interior, power seats, etc. This has happened on three occasions now, once after the car was turned off at the gas station, once after coming out of the store and once at work. In all occasions it was very cold outside and the car had been running for at least 20 minutes before it was shut off. This issue was taken to the dealer for correction after the first and second occurrence. After the second occurrence, the dealer change the battery (a new battery had been installed two year prior along with a new alternator). Seems to be a moisture related electronic problem. Go figure...
I have had intermittent problems with the car starting too. Sometimes it takes five or six tries - hear a click up front but nothing else. Finally, it wouldn't start at all - had it towed to dealership and it started perfectly for them over three days. Everything tests out well - it had a new battery and starter put in a few months ago. I am afraid to go anywhere, fearing it won't start.
