Question about 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee
1998 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE WHEN I DRIVE MY JEEP V6 AND I STOP FOR SOMETHING AND TURN IT OFF I COME BACK IT DOESNT START LIKE IM NOT GETTING FUEL OR A SENSOR BUT WHEN I PUT IT ON THE COMPUTER NOTHING COMES UP
When this happens, have someone listen under the car and see if the fuel pump is coming on. Either the pump or relay may be going bad.
An easy check for the relay is to see if there are any non-essential relays with the same # on them (like a fan relay) when your'e having the problem, temporarily switch the two relays. If this helps, then replace the relay. Before condemming the pump, replace the fuel filter (often neglected), and do pressure tests at fuel rail to see what you are dealing with. Note: it does not have to be fuel... A bad coil or crank sensor can do essentially the same stuff so, don't jump to conclusions before making tests!
