If the fuse keeps blowing chances are that there is a short in the circuit. check the harness related to fuel system.

Welcome to Fixya! Hello! My name is Travis and I will be Helping you tonight.Ok, When you open the Box for the Fuses under the Hood look on the Inside of the Lid, That will tell you which Fuse that is for. It very well could be the Fuse for the Starter. That would keep it from getting Power and Firing. Could also be a Short in the Wires going to the Starter. Let me know which Fuse we are talking about.

Steve, There are a lot of things that could cause fuse to blow, from something as simple as an O2 sensor wire melted to exhaust causing a short to a short in the computer itself. You may want to find a good Tech. to diagnose and estimate repair. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Gages dont work, 20 amp fuse under hood keeps blowing. turn key motor turns but dont start

Is it the ecm fuse. Check the o2 sensor wires. On this model sometimes they rub on the rear driveshaft and blow fuses.

IF THE FUSE BLOWS IMMEDIATELY, THE VEHICLE HAS A SHORT IN THAT CIRCUIT. CAR WON'T RUN WITH A SHORTED ECM. CHECK THE WIRING FIRST FOR A BARE OR PINCHED WIRE.

96 jeep cherokee, replace cps and the engine control fuse

The guy at the garage today, said he went out and put a fuse in it and it started right up. Thats all he did for now. I going to have a closer look on the weekend. But, as before when I went 1/2 mile it would burn the fuse again. We will have to see if it does again, I espect it will. Any idea?

1998 Jeep Cherokee blown fuse

Hello There

15 Amp sounds too small. It should be around 25 -30 Amp. You need to double check the size of fuse needed.

Hope this helps.

If it is the fuse for major engine control electronics that is blowing (PCM, etc.) as soon after energizing, try disconnecting the O2 sensors. The 12V heater in the sensor could be shorting to ground.

30 amp fuse/ in box under hood

The 30 amp fuse is most likely for your starter. Check that the red thick wire (could be black as well) leading to the starter and starter solenoid is properly attached and is not touching anything that would short it out and therefore blow the 30 amp fuse. The short may even be inside the starter in which case it will need to be replaced or repaired. Hope this helps.
