Okay, being a 2005, you probably dont have a speedometer cable. Instead, the speed is indicated on the dash by a wheel speed sensor that sends a signal to the computer that in turn is translated and then sent to the speedometer on your dash.

If you disconnect it, it will cause issues as the computer needs that signal to determine such things as when to shift the transmission (if its an automatic). So it could potentially cause several issues.

You didn't say which sensor .,No sensor can be repaired..It has to be replaced new....however most cases you disconnect negative ground battery cable..Carefully disconnect connector wiring clip from old sensor..,Remove sensor..Lightly dab die electric lube to new sensor connectors..And lightly to mounting threads ..just snug sensor tight..Do NOT GET IT TOO TIGHT...plug connector..,connect battery and test drive..

How to reset speedometer power on reads 20 kph power off reads 0 kph, speedometer 20 kph high driving

Without a Chrysler diagnostic/ calibration machine, I don't think you can do anything. Have you tried disconnecting your battery, wait 10 minutes and reconnecting it?

While removing freeze plugs from 4.0 engine, if I knock one inside the engine will that hurt anything?

You mean.. the freeze plug is pushed and into the engine right?
Very possibly hurts something(crankshaft, piston rod).
After broken, it could be broken piece.

It could be O.K, but I hope you already took off it by magnet.

Where is the speedometer cable located on a 07' jeep commander 4.7l v8 on the transmission? Please be specific as possible. Thank You

Your Jeep doe not have a speedometer cable. The speed is calculated by the PCM ( vehicle computer) by input values that are received from the vehicle speed sensor. This issue is most likely not repairable by the average person without the proper scan tool required to do so.

The speedometer stopped working and the check engine light came on after driving through some deep snow

Look under the vehicle and see if there is anything hanging down close to the transmission. It could be your speedometer cable. Or your remote sending unit for the speedometer could be damaged

My 2006 kia spectra speedometer is not working wat cud be the problem

2006 kia spectra speedometer not working. Try this, I just did it and it worked. Disconnect both battery cables and touch them together for about 3 seconds, then connect them back to the battery. This causes the main computer to re-load all computer programs. It worked on my kia, speedometer now working. It also worked on my 2004 Chevy Silverado to correct an AC/Heating problem just after installing a new battery. The truck blew hot and cold air at same time with only AC on.

2000 jeep cherokee sport - gauges don't work all the time. They may be working and all of a sudden they don't.

We had a similar problem recently where all the gauges went crazy, we disconnected the speedometer cable, cleaned the connection and reconnected it and haven't had the problem again. We had, prior to the problem, done some 4x4ing thru' plenty of mud.

My 93 jeep wrangler speedometer stopped working on day it was rainin out and hasnt worked since any idea why and how to fix

Check the connection to the speed sensor gear. It will be a cable plugged into the output shaft on the top of the transfer case (behind the transmission). It is possible that it became disconnected or has a broken wire.

You should have a speedometer cable that runs from the back of the trani, thru the fire-wall, and into the back oh the gauge cluster.
