If it is one with a chip in the key the best thing to do is go to the dealer and get another one made some of the better lock smiths can do it but the dealer can make one by the vin#. if it is not turning over you can put a push button on it and that will let the starter turn and allow the engine to start.

I think you are saying it won't turn over, so if you turn the key on and run a wire to the small post on the starter then put a push button on it that goes to the + side of the battery it will turn over allowing it to start make sure to put a fuse it it so that it will be protected from a short. The ign. switch is bad you could replace it

Where are the fuses located for alarm system on 1999 pontiac grand prix

The security system doesn't have a separate fuse. It can't be disabled by the owner without rewiring the whole system. It can be bypassed if the VATS module is not defective by following the instructions at this website.

1993 pontiac grand prix wont start has battery but starter wont turn

First thing i would check is the security system. If the battery is good, and it feels like everything is normall except it just wont crank. It could be the security or the starter. Put your key in and try to start it, when it doesnt start, look for a light on the dash that says SECURITY this is a dead give away and you could find all the answers you may need on this link http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/

Grand prix no start

Try locating and reading the fuse box to discover which fuse is for the security system. Pull the fuse for the security system. Good luck.

Car wont start

Try this. Roll down the drivers side window. Close the door and turn the key to the On position. Don't try to crank the car right now. Leave the key on for ten minutes. After ten minutes turn the key off then try to start the car. This procedure tells the computer that it is not being stolen and it will reset the security system. This should hopefully let your car start. I hope this is helpful.

Security system wont let car start

It sounds like the security system has been activated so you need to roll down the drivers side window and close the door. Reach in and turn on the key to the Run position and leave in on for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes is up, turn off the key and then try to start the car. The car should start. If it doesn't start do the process over again. This usually fixes the problem. There is no way to turn off the security system unless you have a key fob. If you have the key fob, just unlock the car and that will disable the security system. I hope this has been helpful.

The security system made my 1999 grandprix gt not start

There is no way to disconnect the security system on your car but there is a way to reset it. Roll down the drivers side window and close the door. (Stay out of the car, this is why you roll down the window) Reach in and turn the key to the On position. Don't try to start it. Leave the key on for ten minutes. After ten minutes, reach in and turn the key off. Then try to start the car. This usually will reset the security system. I hope this is helpful.

Securitysystemwont letme start my car.how can i disconect it ?

Im not as familiar with the security system on the Grand Prix as I am with other parts. I would first start with disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and see if that makes any difference. If it doesnt, there is an online Grand Prix community that you can visit at www.grandprixforums.net. Just sign up and post up your problem there. There are many great and knowledgeable people on that forum and you should be able to find a solution there if disconnecting the battery does not work.
