Too much gas won't make it hard to crank. To thick oil or not enough antifreeze will. If it's flooding, slowly pump the gas pedal to the floor 3 times and then with the pedal held tight against the floor, crank the engine. This will open the butterfly wide open and will blow the extra gas out.

My car has been starting hard and sometimes dies unless I pump the gas a little when I'm cranking it

Maybe you need to change the gas filters or maybe try better gas or maybe change the fuel pump.

MY CADILLAC 05 DEVILE SOMETIMES CRANKS IMMEDIATLY AND OTHER TIMES STARTER SPINS AND CAR WON'T CRANK AS IF THERE WAS NO GAS THEN IT WILL FINALLY FIRE UP. THIS IS VERY RANDOM. WHAT COULD BE THE PRO

Hi Thomas, Take the vehicle for a diagnostic scan. I suspect the fuel rail pressure regulator. There may be a grain of sand or other matter which sometimes allows it to discharge the pressure and thereby the fuel returns to the tank instead of remaining under pressure in the fuel rail. Sounds like your starter or the wiring leading to it has shorted out. Have the starter tested first.

Doesn't always start , has problems in the morning, after it sits for awhile. somestimes it starts alright sometimes it doesn't,acts like it may be out of gas, cranks over and acts like it wants to start,...

May have a fuel pump going bad or a fuel filter clogged. When the fuel pumps go bad they tend to not hold fuel in the line and it leaks back to the tank. That could be causing your hard start sometimes and not others.
