For the 2.4L LE and BE PT Cruisers, the first thing you need to do is remove the air filter housing by un-clipping it. the tricky part is that the battery is held down by a clamp that requires you to remove the main electrical box and base. it looks harder than it is because it is simply two rubber grommets anchored to a metal plate. you can reach your hand underneath and feel for them, then push them upward through the anchor holes to release the base. you will see the clamp that holds the battery in place, just remove the two bolts that are holding it down and replace the battery with a new on and reverse the procedure. hope this was helpful, i spent almost 1.5 hours figuring it out

In my owners Manual it says the Fuse Panel is under the hood next to the Air Cleaner... what I see is the box that houses the Jumper terminal for jumping your battery...? Is it under that location...

What year, make and model is your vehicle? If it is a PT Cruiser you will need to remove the lid to the air filter housing to be able to see the fuse block.

I need to replace my starter what tools do i need ?and what is the easiest way to remove it?

Disconnect negative battery terminal. Remove air cleaner assembly and battery. Then you can remove the 15mm bolt holding the upper part of the starter to the bell housing. Next raise the vehicle by jack on jack stands or suitable support. Remove lower bolt from starter and then you will be able to lower it enough to access the wiring to the starter. Be sure to retain the shim that goes between starter and housing. Install is reverse of removal.

How to remove battery from 2002 PT Cruiser

The battery on my 2003 is under the air intake box.

Disconnect the air pipe to the intake box, then forcibly lift up the air box (it sits on 2 plastic locators which clip into a rubber grommet below) One you have the airbox out the battery is easily accessable.

At the top center of the battery, if you push the air filter housing back a little you will see a bolt. You need a ratchet with an extention and a socket, about 5/8 but cant remember exactly. Loosen the bolt dont remove and it will release the battery.
