I have no lights on a trailer i am trying to tow. I believe it is the tow package fuse. I just bought this vehicle and there is no manual. Which fuse is it and which fuse box?

    1. What kind of vehicle do you have?
    2. Have you verified that the trailer lights are working. You can run a wire temp directly from your battery to the trailer running lights usually the brown wire on your trailer.
    3. Don't forget you must have a ground to the neg side of power source in testing.

The tow light fuses are under the hood if it is a factory install you can go to this website and print the whole manual for free or just what you need ( fuse locations) good luck

The trailer might have a bad ground. My camper does the same thing to my truck. Try directly connecting the trailer ground to the frame of your vehicle. This might solve the problem as it did for me.

2001 F150 supercrew w/ factory towing - No tail lights on trailer

Not sure which fuse you checked.
The Engine Compartment Fuse Panel ( Battery Junction Box / BJB ) is where the fuse is for the trailer tow adapter parking lamps.
Fuse # 5 is the fuse for the parking lamps, and the reversing lamps.

Next is the trailer tow adapter park lamp relay. This is what BJB Fuse #5 feeds, and the coil is operated by the truck's parking lamps. This is also in the BJB, Relay 201, it is the 1/2 size relay.

Not sure what you took a resistance reading from on the trailer tow adapter.

If you want, you can pull the trailer tow park lamp relay, and jumper the normally open contacts, which should provide power at the trailer tow adapters, regardless of the truck's lights.

I have a 2008 Ford F 150 with factory installed trailer wiring. I bought a trailer plug tester. It shows the tail light function to be dead. Brake lights, turn signals all work. Any ideas?

The trailer tow adapter parking lamps is fuse #10 in the cab fuse panel. There is also a trailer tow parking lamp relay that powers them, which could have a problem as well.
Start with the fuse, and maybe check both the 7 pin and the 4 pin for the parking lamps, could be a corroded pin on one of them causing the tester to not see the power on the pin.

No power to tail light on trailer- 2004 Dodge durango factory tow

If this is a factory light harness for the trailer hookup on your Caravan. Look under the hood for a fuse box. Many 2000+ vehicles have this with separate fuses just for the trailer lights.

Factory Trailer tow package - fuses?

Look in the owners manual first. I have seen some of the fuse boxes under the back seat on the drivers side. Also try http://www.etrailer.com/faq-wiring.aspx. This should help. Mike

I had the sam problem with my '02 escape when I installed the hitch. I changed the turn signal relay under the dashboard on the drivers side of the dash with one from an escape that had a tow package(one was blue and the other was yellow...). worked fine for me after that. Don't know if it changed later...

Can you tell me if the 2005 Colorado came with electric brake wiring with the towing/trailer package?

Any trailer tow package vehicle should have at least the light wires. On a truck of that size it probably didn't come with a seven pin plug but it should have a four pin for lights. Hope this helps...Dan
