2007 Jeep Wrangler Alternator/computer issuses?

I have added a snowplow to a 2007 Jeep Wrangler and the radio goes out/battery light comes on. If you use it for a little longer the dash lights flash and it goes into a survial mode.
The plow is brand new checks out at pulling 100 amps.
I have added a 950 cca battery.
I replaced the alternator which is 160 amps.
Should not be any problems.
When checking the amps coming from the altenator it only produces 95 amps. The Jeep dealer tells me that the computer regulates what it will produce and that they can not reprogram the computer?
Any suggestions?

I'll be interested in solution, as I have similar problem.

Do you know what fuse# the controller is connected to?

I added 2-0 ground from battery to block, and that did not help either.

Is this during normal plow operation, or only when raising lowering via an electric motor?

Where did you attach the electrical connections for the plow mechanism?

is not they can't reprogram the computer, is that they don't know how or they don't have the equipement.

the equipment to reprogram the computer is about $1,000-$2,000 and not many people know how either.

I can't suggest anything here either. Since I don't have the equipment.

do a search on the Internet for "reprograming ECU"

I too have a 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon and yes the stock battery is too weak to handle large electrical accessories like hydraulic pumps and winches.
While the stock 160 amp alternator 'can' make 160 amps, it idles at about 100 amps. For most applications this is fine.
Giving the engine a little more throttle and holding at 2000rpm should help. Optima batteries are not as good as they used to be, I recently replaced my Optima with Sears Die-Hard Marine Gel.
While a 2nd battery may increase the length of time until drained, it may not be sufficient to plow a mall parking lot etc. street plowing should be ok because you will normally rev over 2000rpm.
For a stationary winch pull I have used a Hyper-Tech ODB2 computer to temporarily raise the idle from 600rpm to 1500rpm. However this May not work I'm your plowing operation.
I installed a Mean Green Alternator producing 210amps just above 1000rpm. It has worked much better for winching and off-road lights. Cost: about $375 at Quadratec.

2007 jeep wrangler will not start put in a new battery and a new alternator, still will not start lights come on just wont turn over.

by your description, it sounds like you may have a starter problem. The main wire from the battery may be loose on the starter end.as well. If you do any off roading this would be typical as well as corrosion. There is an ignition relay as well, and a fuse for the ignition. This I believe may be under the hood in a plastic box. I would check fuses first, then have a look at the starter and wires. Starters are known to go without warning. If this jeep is a manual transmission, I would try to start it by coasting and catching it in gear. If the jeep starts, it is in the starter,or wiring. Ground wire included. if not, the problem lies elsewhere. keep me posted

Why no one has the answer for the "gauges light on" for Jeep Wrangler 1998?

get a meter and use to test with fully charged battery. the big wire should have battery voltage if not ck fuse if fuse good ck fuse box, if voltage present ck connector with running one should have battery voltage the other less than battery voltage. if no battery voltage alternator no good. if no voltage on less then battery its signal comes from ecm/pcm trace back wire to ecm/pcm if any bad spots repair.if ok replace ecm/pcm. if battery voltage present on other wire it goes to the alternator cut out relay trace wire and repair if bad,if good ch relay im not sure how it is wired but will try to find out tomorrow and get back to you.

Sounds like a short in the electrical system. Maybe even just a loose ground wire. On the other hand...It could just as easily be a bad ECM (BRAIN)! Warranty still in tact? I hope so. Diagnostic at a certified Jeep shop... Good Luck!

Put a volt meter on the battery itself and take a reading when it is doing that. If charge rate is over 14v the alternator may be working but the output is not being cut down to "useful voltage" You may have a regulator problem.

You may want to check with factory recalls. There was a letter sent to 2007 owners about a computer upgrade to solve loss of sudden power along with some ABS issues.
