Question about 1994 Subaru Legacy Outdoor
The shock seems to have colapsed it is in a subaru legacy wagon with height adjust control in cab.the height sdjust light flickers on and off.when car has stopped you can hear hissing like escaping air.has the shock gone or is it another problem
The suspension on those is really a brilliant thing, isn't it? Unfortunately, bladders that control the ride height don't last forever and they're pretty expensive to replace. The few that have been in my shop for leaking bladders have been retrofitted with conventional struts all around. Not what you wanted to hear, I'm sure, but it's a LOT more expensive to replace the adjustable suspension, and you can bet that if one of them has ruptured, the others aren't far behind.
The only thing that I can think of that might be a good temporary fix (6 months?) is to get a used air adjust strut from a salvage yard. If you can find one. Superupair in Boulder, Colorado usually has the most used Suby parts, and I believe they ship nationally.
