Cracked head means replace your engine, head gasket if you do it yourself approx $150 , dealership cost $800. Remove the oil cap on the top of the engine block , put your finger in and see what color the oil is if it's dark it's not a cracked head , if it's white and or milky looking, you have water in your oil, cracked head !

2000 blazer 4.3 what would cause coolant to be in engine oil

A blown head gasket. This is common if you ever let the engine overheat. Aluminum heads will warp if allowed to overheat even for a few minutes. If you check the coolant there may also be oil in the coolant. Remove your spark plugs and see if they are all the same color on the tip of the plugs that are inside the engine. Usually one or two of the plugs will foul with oil or coolant and not fire like the other plugs. You could also have a cracked head or engine block. It is a complex job for the home mechanic to remove and replace the head gaskets. If you do, take the heads to a shop that will test for cracks and rebuild the head before you replace the head gaskets and intake and exhaust gaskets. This is a complex job for the average home mechanic.

Help, my 2000 1789cc turbo beetle has major sludge problem. anit freeze in the oil, vacume and intake system, and cylenders. is there a weak spot in the engine or more likely the head gasket?

Good Evening, I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with your beetle. Although not something that cannot be recovered from. It sounds like a head gasket or a cracked head. If you get it repaired you might also have your timing belt and water pump replaced at that time as well because it will all be apart then and will be enjoyable for a lot longer. I'm sorry for the bad news, please feel free to ask if you have any more questions.

Very common for the coil pack to fail on this model, also the plugs are a pain to change and are often left, try these first.
