Cycle key to on, (not start) off, on, off, then try to start. That should prime fuel system, as is probably happening on second attempt. If that cures it, I Would change fuel filter first if it was me.

Key is stuck and everything is dead

Tried moving the steering wheel firmly in one direction or the other while (gently!) attempting to turn the key? Or look for a little lever that your knuckle sometimes hits when you do turn the key.

My 1999 Chrysler town and country doesn't start cold. I can hear loud click coming from the starter motor when you try it and after several attempts and moving the key in all directions it starts.

This is the sign of a fulty starter, loose battery terminal or a dead cell in the battery. Start with the easy step first....tighten the terminals, have the battery tested and then the starter. Good luck

Just had someone try and steal my 1997 cummings 5 speed ram. I replaced my ignition but when I tried to start it I GOT NO IDIOT LIGHTS AND WONT TURN OVER? The fan works and radio but wont start, what am I...

On many vehicles there is a rod that runs from the key switch to the actual ignition switch, usually mounted lower on the steering column shaft. If this is maladjusted from the installation of the key switch, or has been broken due to the attempted break in, it could in fact be the problem. I am not directly familiar with that particular truck, but from the symptoms described, I would start there. Good luck.

Did you pull ******* the steering wheel on the direction that it is locked? Usually rare... But I have seen the springs go bad with the tumblers in the key cylinder. You could attempt to thump under the key cylinder to attempt to bounce the tumblers while moving the key back and forth.

This seems like a logical set of steps that you have undertaken to achieve this result.....i would attempt to remove the inlet side to the carurettor/injection line as see that when you turn the ignition on, you feel or hear fuel pulsing out of the line, as the fuel pump replacement can be a lengthy and expensive job.......have you thought of possible fuel filter blockage as well ??????

Car wont start

Probably the battery. Try jump starting it. Check to see if you left anything on overnight (dome light, etc.)

Steering column frozen

You may have bound the steering wheel up against the locking mechanism.

Put the key in the ignition, and try to turn, while attempting to rotate the steering wheel to the left or right. When you rotate it the right direction, the key will turn fully and you can start the car.

get a boost... sounds like the battery is run down.... if you want to test that theory... have someone try and start the car while you check hte voltage on the battery.... it may well even need replacement
