Change tire

You need a jack to lift the vehicle high enough to get the tire off and the new one on, you need a lug wrench to loosen and tighten the lug nuts and depending on the rims you might have hub caps that are part of the rim or seperate and if they are seperate, you need something to pry them off with. So the proper way to do this is:
Before you raise it with the jack, take the lug wrench and loosen the lug nuts a little. This is easier when the tire is on the ground because depending on the tire location, it will turn if you lift it. So when the weight is on it, it wont turn. Then you put the jach under the car and near the tire you are lifting and you use the jack to raise the tire. Then finish taking the lug nuts off. Remove the tire and put the new tire on. You may have to raise the jack some more to make it high enough. Put the lug nuts back on tight as you can and lower the car. Then tighten the lug nuts again to be sure. You should tighten lug nuts by skipping them. In other words start with one and tighten it, skip the next one and tighten the third one. When you go all the way around, go to the ones you skipped and tighten those.

Front tire won't come off

Sit on your but and kick the tire with both feet. The tire is stuck. Some tire repairmen use a large sludge hammer and hit the tire, don't hit the rim.

I have 2006 chrysler sebring, how do you get the tire off, i took the lugs off, the tire won't come off

if you have all the wheel nuts off then put one back on about 2 turns.then take a sledge hammer and hit the back of the wheel on the rim in different places as it sounds like the rim is rusted to the hub.make sure the car is securely supported before you get under the car.

WHAT SIZE LUGS AND NUTS DO I PURCHASE IN ORDER TO CHANGE THEM?

That's kind of a difficult question to answer, your best bet would be to call a dealer or get out your tire iron and mallet and take a sample to an auto parts store and put them to work. I had the same questions about my montero after breaking a lug changing a flat and i just took a good lug to the parts store and they matched it for me.

How do i change the back tire

Find the jack and jack up the rear just in front of the rear tire you are changing. (don't lift off ground completely yet). Using the lug wrench (also called a tire iron) break loose each lug nut.

Finish raising the vehicle just high enough that the tire isn't touching the ground. Finish removing the lug nuts, then pull tire off. Put new (different/spare) tire on, and put the lug nuts back on, and tighten by hand until tire is snug. With the car still raised, lightly tighten the lug nuts, until snug again (by use of lug wrench).

Lower car completely and tighten the lug nuts again (do not over tighten). At all points of tightening lug nuts, do so in a criss cross pattern. Start with one, then move to the one directly across from that, and so on (not all will be "directly" across at all times, so just make sure you alternate and don't go in any consecutive (clockwise/counter clockwise) order.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Good Afternoon. I am changing a tire on a 2006 Durango. I have loosened the lug nuts, jacked it up and then took off the lug nuts completely. The tire is still firmly in place and will not come off. Am I...

The tire may need a good kick to loosen the rusted/corroded bond to the axle, usually in the center section. Light sanding and a film of grease to the area after the wheel is off will help future removal.

Took off lug nuts but tire won't come off

common issue. take out your spare tire and use it to hit the inside of the wheel. this will knock it loose and save you excessive effort. once you are done you get anti sieze and apply it to the centre of the hub and install the wheel. torque is about 90 ft lbs..

Flat tire

The lug bolts are all you need to take off. the big bolt in the middle holds the spindle on and you don't want to take that off. just take off all the lug bolts and the tire should slide right off. if it hasn't been off in awhile, kick it a few times to loosen it up.
