Take your ignition module to advance auto and have it tested when they go bad they will work momentarily as soon as they start to heat up they quit working and the vehicle dies

SOURCE: my truck will start for only a few seconds

There is a relay that supplies the voltage to the fuel pump during starter operation and for two seconds after start-up. There is another relay that closes to provide the run voltage.
The run relay is located in the fuse/relay box mounted on the left inside fender. See the cover label.
Another source of your problem could be the igniton switch, as it returns to the run position, with contact failure.
Also check all the fuses, you never can tell with these computerized motors withou having the actual wiring diagrams.

I have a 1998 chevy 1500 with a 4.3 liter engine, after it sits overnight it takes a while to start. After it is warm it starts fine and runs good,it happens after its cooled down

I would start by checking fuel pressure via the schrader valve on the fuel line (near the rear of the intake manifold). The vortec engines needed considerably higher fuel pressure than most to start cold, and it is quite common for a weak fuel pump to cause a cold only no start condition with that engine. You should see around 50-60 psi with the key on / engine off for about 3 seconds. Also, if the pressure drops very quickly after a few seconds, the fuel pressure regulator could be to blame.

1997 chevy blazer truck won't start no nosie from fuel pump chang

Replace the fuel filter. It should be in line with the fuel pump on the inside of the frame on the driver's side forward of the pump. There should be 1 or 2 bolts securing the bracket in place. Leave them tight and remove the fittings on the front and rear of the filter. Fuel will begin to leak from the lines as you loosen them so keep you face safely away from that area. Once the fitting nuts are backed out completely, remove the bracket bolts and then the filter. Reverse the steps to reinstall.
