Question about 1988 Audi 90
I just bought this car and I am having trouble figuring out how to fix this problem. There is a million bulbs in the dash so I dont think that that could be the prob. Plus the back up lights are not working. I tried to take the fuse/relay block out to check for corrosion but could not figure out how to disconnect the wiring with such limited space. The ABS is also on that fuse and I think that it works cause when I pull the fuse I hear a click from the ABS compartment.
Had this problem with my 93 90, the fuse for the the cluster would blow when i put it in reverse, turned out it was the wires in the trunk lid where they bend when opening and closing trunk, old wires like to break causing short to grounds and shorts to power, work on these cars 60 hours a week and this is where i go frist when a customer has these problems hope i helped

You are right. I found disconnected wires at trunk panel.
I reconnected and checked fuse #12. The fuse was OK. But still my dashboard panel light doesn't work. What do I must check?

Hi, first check the wiring at the left trunk hinge. The wires like to break from flexing from opening and closing the trunk lid. Also check the wiring under the shifter cover. It does the same thing. Your most likely going to find a broken wire from one of these places.
